Seems I have harshed the synchro's from 1st to 2nd.
I read there is a carbon fibre replacement that is far superior..
suggestions ?
I'll pull the trans.. Just need the work done inside.

If your looking for Tremec service in Ohio, you have:

Benhase Restos in Cincinnati 513 772 1896
Tate Automotive in Bethel 513 427 9301
Gary's rod's & restos in Anna 866 942 0651
DCI Motorsports in Atwater 330 628 3354 330 850 5050

Gary's and DCI are more hotrod and musclecar oriented than the others, although they are all authorized Tremec installer/service oriented

Or you could send it out to Silver Sport Transmissions (SST) in Tennessee for the upgrade/rebuild, depending on the "vintage" of your transmission, a shift tower upgrade might be in the cards as well?

To bad we dont live closer. I just did my buddies 5-speed Tremec that he put in his 69 Camaro. I did put updated sycro's in it that had the clutch type material on them as the ones I took out were all brass. I was surprised how easy to service the trans was as nothing was pressed on the mainshaft from what I remember. I have rebuilt a few manual tranny's over the years as that Tremec was one of the easier ones I have rebuilt. Ron
