Right now I have 235/60r15s on the front and 245/60r15s in the back on my 70 challenger. I used to run 255/70s on the back, and I think I would like to go back to a tall rear tire. Anyone use a tall front like the 245/60? I need to get my Hooker Super Comps up off the ground a little better. I don't want it to have that 4x4 look, but I like to drive it and steep drive ways and speed bumps are a problem. They were even when I was running a 255/70 cause I still had the short front tire. I know I can do a little adjusting with the torsion bars too.

Ehhh....if you have 235/60/15 on the front now, a 245/60/15 will be wider not so much taller (1/2" taller) than your 235/60

Just to clarify..... That's just under a half inch increase in overall tire height. It would only raise the ride height by just shy of one quarter inch.

I am hoping in combination with the tall rears it will help get my collectors up off the ground

ETA- I'd be putting my current rear tires up front, so it's not going to cost anything

255/70/15's are only 2 1/2" larger in diameter, so you'll only see an 1 1/4" rise in rear height

I'm running 245/60-15 on the front and 275/60-15 on the rear.

all 4 wheels are 15x8" with 4 1/2" back spacing.

I have the car sitting level but fairly low, I've never scraped the Headman headers on a 440 engine.

I had 235-60-15s on 7" rallyes and they rubbed on full lock to lock turns

1970 Challenger

Pulled them off and went with F60-15s and they never touched ,,,same wheels

In my experience, 235's in the front need backspace dialed in just so for no rub in extreme conditions. Relieved lip hemi fenders help also. 245's would be really pushing it with a "no rub" goal and stock fenders. (70 Challenger).

In the 3 years of driving with my current 245/60-15 front tire setup the car has never rubbed the fenders from the outside of the tires.

On very rare occasions the rear inside of the tire has rubbed the frame on a full lock turn but it also rubbed the frame in the same spot with factory 14" ralleys so I'm thinking it's a steering/ball joint stop issue.

Here is a tire combo I tried first because I was concerned a 245/60-15 tire on an 8" rim wouldn't fit up front.

235/60-15 up front with a 15x7 rim with 4 1/2 back spacing.

Rear tires were 275/60-15 with 15x8 rims 4 1/2 back spacing.

I was not happy with it, the front tires appeared short compared to the rear tires. The fronts tires looked small and tucked under the car too much for me, I prefer the tires to fill out the wheel well more.

I had to crank the torsion bars up a bit to make the car look close to level which created too much of a gap between the top of the front tires and the fenders.

The 235/60 tires and 7" rim was not even close to rubbing the fenders on my Challenger.

I run 245/60x15 (15x7), 275/60x15 (15x8.5). It has rubbed on the wheel well trim in the front I thinned them up at the top. car sets pretty low.

I have always had 245/60 R15's on my challenger, on 7x15 repop ralleys (backspacing?). Never had a problem with tires rubbing. .02
