i have an x pipe/flow master 40's on my 408. if i put 10" collector extentions with 16" bullets on without the x pipe, do you think there would be a performance improvement? anyone ever try this. i'm thinking about making the switch since my car is getting closer to a drag car than a street car.

In my experience going from any kind of Flowmaster muffler to any straight through type will result in a power gain.

My experience has been the same. I run the 3.5" top ten shootout race mufflers and I loose 3mph just by putting them on. I think it has alot to do with your combo.

ok, thanks. now i need to know what length the collector extention needs to be before the bullet and how long should the bullet be? i don't want any crackling or backing off, just a nice powerful note.

Install the bullets at the end of the pipes, no tail pipe at all. Make every pipe as straight as possible My Duster has the Magna Flow 3x14 ovals mounted at the rear bumper with three inch pipes from the headers straight back to the muffs with minimal bends, the car slows down .04 ET in the 1/8 mile and about .25 MPH with the muffs and pipes on versus no muffs and pipes on the car ran a average of 6:98 (five runs)with no exhaust and a average(6 runs on saturday with identicle weather on both days) 7:02 with the muffs and pipes on the car is relitively quiet at part throttle in the car and people say it sounds real good going down the track at WOT, it is quiet a bit louder in the car at WOT
