Send a note to George at geomr2001@yahoo.com
I believe that he used all oem parts on his 60 Ply.
FWIW, he is in Ft Walton Beach area.

I think FMJ spindles can be coaxed into service on that platform.

Check with therocks. I think his son had a 62 Chrysler that they used them on. Should be the same front end IIRC.

And just for the record C-bodies didn't start until 1965. biggrin

the 57-61 fury uses the K772 upper ball joint and the K719 [screw in] lower joint on all models. the lower joint has the same taper as the 74&up B body spindles [which also uses the K719 screw in lower joint] with the steering arm having the taper in the steering arm instead of the lower control arm. so score a late set of spindles [F,M,J body], caliper brackets of your rotor diameter choice, and the steering arms. the tie rod tapers are the same also. you may be able to use your existing steering arms, but i forget if that's possible. the only other thing you need to do is shorten [i think] the tie rod adjuster sleeves to get the proper toe adjustment. and if i also remember correctly [at my age, the "remembering correctly" statement is, um, kinda related to "oldtimers" biggrin], your original spindle is the same height, or real close to, the late model "tall" spindle some guys are afraid to use in their A and B body conversions. hope this is of some help to you.

I was doing a lot of disc brake conversions on the 57-61s years ago. 70s A Body spindles, rotors and calipers can be made to work fairly easily but require modifying the tie rod and tie rod sleeve and steering stops. 77-78 C Body spindles, rotors, and calipers will also work but in addition to the tie rod/steering stop modifications also require a modification to the spindle and selecting the correct ball joints. The geometry of the A and C body spindles is not an exact match to the original spindles which will require an alignment afterword and you end up with a little bit quicker steering.

I think AAJ was about the first outfit to offer a conversion using the stock spindles. I have that conversion on my 57 Plymouth and would use it again if I were building another car of this era. As I recall they use A Body rotors and I believe GM Calipers.

I haven't used the Scarebird stuff, but have heard good things about them and you do end up with bigger rotors. With AAJ or Scarebird you end up with a lot less work (and if you car is correctly aligned save a trip to the alignment shop).

Get the Scarebird kit and don't look back, no spindle mods, no oddball geometry curves from running a newer spindle, just a solid bolt in.

Your other good options are from SSBC or magnumforce sells a wilwood kit for a hefty premium (double what the 60's era stuff sells for).
