I went through this 10 years ago... Never could find the correct one that plugs into the tube..

On the flip side the aftermarket one works fine...

Remind me how the motor attaches to the box.

Just finished a restore on a 71 B Body. The blower motor has a round opening in the side for a soft plastic vent tube to go from it to a hole in the firewall which leads back into the heater box. The front of the motor has 2 studs which line up to holes on a soft rubber seal on a rear metal plate which is secured to the box via sheet metal screws. There is a fibre paper gasket between the front of the motor and the soft rubber seal. Not sure if the A bodies used the metal blower plate or not.

Right. So why not set the motor where it needs to be and drill new mounting holes.

Some people take restorations to ridiculous levels. The motor is completely hidden from view and will likely never be seen by human eyes again once installed. Just make the friggin thing work and forget about it.

The blower is not hidden from view. The rear end of it pokes out from the firewall and is one of the most visible elements in an open engine bay. To some people correct restoration techniques and methodologies matter. I'd rather keep all of my original mounting holes and not have to drill through the firewall or the rear mounting plate of the heater box if I don't have to. Don't understand why you're getting so upset. You were the one asking to be reminded how it was mounted in one of the earlier posts.

Well I have a '69 B Body and my motor is in the back of the heater box and DOES NOT protrude into the engine compartment. And the OP clearly states "no air".

Apology accepted !

So I guess this was just a facetious comment? Since you already know how it is mounted?

Not at all. But I know for sure it doesn't protrude into the engine compartment.

Yes, no argument as far as the 69 non air cars are concerned. I was just responding to how the blower motor attaches to the box. I have a non air 71 and the rear of the blower is clearly visible. Most Mopars of that Era, IMHO are visible over those that are hidden. At least the ones I've seen anyway.

Well "most" isn't "all".

ALL 66-70 B-Body Plymouths and Dodges (non air) do not have an exposed blower motor.
