Does anyone know if the Milodon #16250 high volume small block water pump is the same as the GMB HP SB water pump (#1201070P). I noticed my Milodon unit has the same "GMB CR07" cast on the inlet as the GMB unit does.

that would convince me that they are the same (same casting for sure with maybe some mods) but w pumps are pretty simple. Just me I think if you got a parts house rebuilt with the most vanes & welded on an anticav plate that your cooling needs would be met (at least as far as the pump goes).

Myself, over the last 40+ or so years have seen ZERO benefit to anything other than a parts store pump on street driven / occasionally race vehicles. Same with water wetter, duralube and other MAGIC fixes. OPPPS, whistling
I just remembered, there was a noticeable difference, My wallet was lighter twocents popcorn

My Flowkooler #1700 HiFlow pump has the same casting number on the neck (CR07 GMB).
I think the aftermarket companies use the same base casting but they machine it for their own pump assemblies.

The only one that I know of that is made from a unique casting are the Edelbrock versions. They have a large steel disk with long curved blades that have much more surface area compared to the rest of them. They cost a lot more, but they do work great.

On the water wetter, I've heard that a few drops of liquid dish soap works good.
