Hey guys, does any of you know who sells or produces a grille screw/hardware kit for a 69 Valiant?, I've checked with Layson's, Tony's, Year One and Classic Industries with no luck. I bought the car and the grille was on the front seat, actually two were, but no hardware. It gets painted this weekend B5.
Thanks in advance,

Would 70-72 valiant/duster stuff work? Would assume more likely to be found than 69 valiant 1 year specific stuff.

I honestly don't know, all of it was gone when I got the car, was hoping somebody here has run into this. The Spring Fling is coming up in 2 weeks, maybe a vendor there will know.

Look for the best examples on other cars. Talk to the owners then go to the venders. Most likely you'll have to buy the screws from a place like Restoration Specialties Supply Inc. So go back to the owners of similar cars and see if they will help. Sometimes there are some oddball screws such #6 oval head on #8 sheet metal screw.

Parts and shop book may help too. Probably won't give you all the details but may show how many and how many different types, whether its a self tapping or there is a retaining clip.

iagree

Unless you have the complete specs for a fastener, the only real way to identify what is correct is to look at an installed one. Otherwise you'll probably end up with a lot of hardware you can't use.....trust me on this one.

Yep, I was going to walk thru the car show area and ask around.

Bring some way to figure out the details. In this respect a junkyard is easier. Someone will have to be willing to remove a screw(s) to get a good measurement. To easy to chance a vernier caliper or machinest's rule possibly scratching the trim/grill surface.
