Most likely it's the crankshaft position sensor. I've heard it can be several different things, but the Crank sensor is a likely culprit...

Same thing happened to my 05 Magnum RT, replaced the crank sensor and all fixed. Believe it's on the rear passenger side of block, you have to take the starter off to get to it Correct- I had an 05 neon with the same symptoms, crank sensor resolved the issue.

Most likely it's the crankshaft position sensor. I've heard it can be several different things, but the Crank sensor is a likely culprit... I agree. It is a somewhat easy fix and The part is fairly inexpensive. If I remember correctly it was $25 Canadian from RockAuto so much cheaper for you guys. The starter needs to be partially removed to put it on. Best thing to do is start with the cheapest fix first but looking at the DTC, it seems probable that it is the crankshaft position sensor.
