If you don't mind cutting the fenderwell lip, a 275/60-15 should fit, but will have to have perfect backspacing. 15x8 w/ 4-3/4" bs should be about right. I run 245/60-15's on 15x7's w/ 4-1/4" bs, and they fit with plenty of room to spare. If I had it to do again (which I will someday), I'd have ordered 255-60's. I think thats the most aggressive you can go without cutting the fender, or rubbing like crazy.
The inboard spring kit wont get you much. the inboard pinch spot is the fenderwell, not the spring. mini-tubbing and the inboard kit together will get you some nice space.
My experience comes from a 67 Plymouth. The Dodge version of this issue should be similar, though.

My 67 GTX has 275/60-15's on cop wheels with no rubbing. Stock suspension. Basically the same car as yours!

The rear is the smallest imo. I was able to stuff a 10" section width tire in there with 1/2" to spare on either side. I needed a 5.5" backspace rim to do it.
Most people would call it a 5" backspace, but most all the wheel MFG's want 1/2" added on either side for the rim lip when giving the the backspace specs for custom wheels. They want you to measure from the edge of the rim, so an 8" rim is 9" in their world when talking backspace.
It's hard to see in the pic, but there is alot of rubber on the ground with a 10" section width tire. I needed 18" rims to clear the upper ball joint with 5.5" of backspace in the front. 18x8" wheels and 255/45/18" tires on all four corners. You can check the tire manufacturers web site to find other size tires that have a 10" section width.

Lefty will you ever show a full picture of your car? Everytime the wheel question comes up you answer and post beautiful pics of the suspension and nothing else. Please post some pics.

+1 My bothers 67 Satellite has the same combo on the rear with no issues. His leaf springs are pretty worn out too. I was also able to mount the same wheels in the back of my 67 Coronet 500 without any issues.

I would like to but now I spend 7 days a week working on other peoples cars. My Coronet is in pretty much the same shape since that picture was taken. As soon as the 47 Dodge truck I'm working on is done, the Coronet get's it's spot in the shop and will be finished or I'm gonna go postal!

Before I mini-tubbed mine I ran 275/60 drag radials on a 15 x 8 street lite with 4.5 backspacing and the outer lip trimmed.I mini-tubbed it to the stock frame rails, moved the springs into the frame and have a 315/60 drag radial with 12 inch street lites.

67 Wedge, That is a beautiful car. can you give a little more data on your rear tire brand and size I have BFG drag radials 345/65 15 which are not made anymore, they have a 12.5" tread and about 14" section on 10" wheels I am having a hard time finding a set close to this size. Thanks

so whats on the front, or whats the widest wheel/tire combo you could put on the front? backspacing?

On my 67 coronet with stock wheel wells I installed 15X7 with a 4" backspace w/ 225-60-15 Radial ta's... On the rear I used 15X8 with a 5 1/4" backspace using 245-60-15 radial ta's..
I had some slight rubbing on the right rear inside fender well.. In measuring again, my rear end is an 1/8" further to the left contributing to the rub.. I installed a rear (firm feel) sway bar and ( something I disdain) a 1/8" spacer on my right side and it fixed the rubbing..
I agree with Lefty and to do it over again I would have used 5" backspace on the rear.. Remember that your wheel, lip to lip measurement will be appx 1" wider than stated.. ( 8" lip to lip will measure 9")... Personally without doing anything to the car I don't think you could go much wider on the rear wheel/tire combo than mine.... If you want to raise the rear, cut out the outer lip, move your springs, then your talking other options.... I see alot of people on here talking about wider tires and personally I have never liked the looks of "rear shackles" even from "back in the day"...
The fronts could probably go larger ( wheel and tire) and the "standard" 3 3/4 inch back space would work.. I wanted a basic cruiser that wouldn't walk all over the road and drive nice..
My 2 cents after having my wheels and tires on for 1200 miles....

Im ordering 18" wheels for my gtx so I was wondering about that. Its seems I should go 18x8, 0 offset, 5.5" backspace. Would a 5.25" backspace work?

18x8" and 255/45/18s on all four corners. No mods to the fender wells with 5.5" backspace.

Osyman, as you can see Lefty has alot more experience than I on larger wheel/tire combos on stock wheel wells... What year is your car?? The 68 and newer b bodies have larger wheel wells than us poor ole 66-67 people....
66-67 cars rear wheel wells slope up and into the wheel well decreasing the wheel well size, so the further up you go into the wheel well you start to lose width....

67wedge thats what i wanted to hear.. do you have a pic of from the rear of the car with the 315/60's? do you know whats the bck space on the 12's thanks!!!
Here are a couple. The backspace is 4 1/2". I used Afco slide links instead of shackles to keep it low plus we boxed the frame for the front spring hangers. Keeps it from looking like a 4x4
Bump for a old but great post!!! Lol So you're running a15x12" wheel with 4.5"bs. Mini tubbed and leafs relocated? Stock length axles? What all did u do to fit them? Any wisdom you can share will be greatly appreciated.

I mini tubbed, moved in the leaf springs, narrowed the rear end 1.5" on each side to center my rims at 5" backspacing on a 10" wide rim.
running 325/50/15 MT drag radials
