I don't have the right program it seems to run Feet's brake program, so I will ask you guys. Here is what I have installed in a 71 e body, auto (will be 42RH), 318 (going to rebuild close to junyard jewel power level (300+ hp)), power steering, and manual brakes (factory brake pedal for that car):

Front: 11 3/4" front disc upgrade from manual 4 wheel drum (followed mopar action upgrade, single piston pin factory style calipers)

Rear: 10" factory drums

Currently installed 1 1/8" aluminum m/c. I was going to go for hydroboost to use with the bigger m/c but figure I don't need it. Is this m/c too big and if so, what size should I use? I don't want to have to stand on the pedal to stop it and would like a nice "modern" braking action. Should I go with 15/16"?

Thanks

I know if your doing the 4 wheel disks you should run the 15/16" but i'm not sure since your keeping manual brakes on the rear, someone else here can comment about that. There's a huge brake thread here with all the math you need to calculate what your car needs.

Stock 71 E body manual M/C is 1 1/32".

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

Do they make a 1" m/c? That would be right in the middle.

I had the same brake setup before I tore my 'Cuda down with a 1-1/8". That bore is too large for that application.

I'd be looking at a 15/16" if not the stock 1-1/32".

I think I will try the 15/16" one. This way if I upgrade the brakes to something bigger in the future, it will be good to go.
