Bought these slots a few years ago and finally mounted some tires on them to put on my Challenger. Threw two on one side of the Cuda to see how they would look.

I actually prefer the Keystones but the slots are growing on me.

That being said, I really like how they look on the Challenger.

I love the period look of slots. I think they look great on the green car. The one with the 70's artwork looks better with the keystones.

Great looking cars!

Wow both look great. Are those the Ansen slots? For some reason the US Mag ones that are available look better to me. I do like your choice of the Polyglas tires.

Both sets of wheels look great on your Cuda, but the Keystones make the wild paint job pop even more than it already does! I am going to buy a set of the US slots, and a set of traditional torque thrust wheels so I can have the day 2 look on whatever car I feel like putting them on. I already bought a new set of Cragar S/S wheels, and they are currently on my 71 Challenger convertible. I like 15 inch rallye wheels and Magnums, but I also like the day two look. That is how these cars were when I was a kid. I don't care for bling wheels on our cars, and I don't care for the dog dish hub cap steel wheel look either. It looks ok on someone else's car, but I don't want them on my cars. I do have one car that I plan to run modern 17 inch wheels on, and I am going with Year Ones 17 inch Mopar rallye wheels for this car.

Custom painted car looks better with the Keystones to my eye.

Really wanted slots for the Demon, but couldn't find any narrower than 7" when I was looking.

Keystones on the drivers side, slots on the passenger side! I have done that before with Cragars and slots, sometime you get a few confused looks... eek

Keystones, never a fan of Slots on any car. Keystones makes the custom paint really pop, plus they were good enough for Mr. Sox.

The very first set of aftermarket wheels I bought were Keystone Classics. I always liked them better then any other wheel. I never cared for slots back in the day but they have grown on me some. Slots always looked on the cheap side to me.

I do prefer the keystones on the Cuda. I'd love to find a set of Fenton or ET III's but that will be tough.

The slots are Ansen that I put ET center caps on.

I typically only like slot mags when they are extra wide in the rear and very narrow up front.

Cars with aftermarket mag wheels that are the same size front and rear looks odd to me. Even if the wheel widths are the same on all four corners the tire sizes need to be different.

I think I would prefer Keystones on both cars.

I'm the opposite. I look for wider, deeper in the rear. Same diameter front/rear is fine, and my last car was 14's front. 15's rear. 15's all around is better. Old school I know

Try the slots for awhile. I like them both kinda equally on the Cuda, but maybe the slots 10% better. Slots are better on the green.

Oops, I may have not been very clear when I typed that, but I do prefer the wheel diameters to be the same, just the wheel widths need to be different.

If for some reason all the wheels happen to be the same size (say 15x7 on all 4 corners, for example), then the tire sizes need to be different front and rear to give it a muscle car big and little stance.

Having 4 identical aftermarket mag wheels with the same size tires on all 4 corners of the car is what I find odd.

I'm just the opposite of Cooter- I have ALWAYS hated slots, still do. I gave away the set that came on my Charger when I bought it.

If money was no object and both cars were mine, the green one would get Torque Thrusts and the cuda would get Cragar Tru-Spokes, 7" in front, 15x10 in the rear running N50's. That would really round out the whole 70's show car feel! smile

Since most of the votes are for the Keystones I'd go with neither and put a set of classic Torque Thrusts......but in full chrome devil 15X8 or 15X10 rear and 15X7's up front. But that's just me and you know what they say that everyone has......and they all stink biggrin

my plan for my alum slots (unsprung weight reduction) then add a full circular polished flat alum or steel cover attached with rim screws. Not sure how it will turn out but that is the plan. I figure alot of rims are blurry when moving & this is how I plan to get around that.

I remember that car on Hot Rod ! I'd love to find a set of Cragar SST's for my 'Cuda but those are hard as well. I think I have a pair of uni lug SST's somewhere.

Depends on the car for sure.
I've always liked the Keystones best.
For size I prefer same width and diameter wheels with deeper offset in back. Taller and wider tires at the back.
RWL is a must for a period correct look.
I like the others, just not as much.
I have a set of equal size 14" slots for the 4 door Chrysler.

Same problem with a 69 Barracuda. I believe the Keystones look best but it has had Indy slots since the '70s.
Keystones on 'cuda and slots on Challenger IMO.

With the 69 Barracuda, yes those are 4" bolt-pattern Keystones for an a-body. It took awhile to find four 14x6s. Found a pair of 15" small bolt pattern Keystones but failed to purchase. Dumb move.

SBP Keystones are nearly impossible to find, either 14 or 15. Good score!

With as busy as the paint is, the Keystones look lost on the Cuda - slots jump right out in their own sort of way and offer a solid contrast to the paint. They stand out by being 'plain' alongside that paint and shined up they look gorgeous. Whereas the paint on the Challenger isn't eye popping compared to the Cuda, and the Keystones lend their own embellishment and additional interest.

I must be odd. I REALLY like old original Keystones, but can't stand the newer unilig versions. The small caps, and connected/rounded spokes kill it for me.

Yep. To me the "new" ones aren't Keystones.

It's like trying to explain to a non-car person that the small-bolt 5-on-4 Mopar-only Cragar SS has a look like no other Cragar SS...

THANKS for pointing that out! I thought there was something odd about the current version that made me question what was a little less appealing then the originals back in the day.

The new versions seem to have a rounded almost "teardrop" look to them that looks terrible now that I see the original. Thanks again.....and I'm going back to my choice of chrome TT....classic style wheel with custom finish on a classic car with a custom paint, that makes more sense than just plain classic wheels that anyone could have. Just me.

At first production of the "Keystone" wheels was that the one and only wheel (style) that they produced?

Did some quick research on Keystone Wheels and the original wheel was called Kustomag by Keystone Rim Inc. I guess that's like the Kleenex/tissues, Xerox/photo copy (old folks) and Windex/window cleaner. I think today if you said you had Kustomags on your '60's/'70's hot rod/muscle car back in the day you'd get the shruggy laugh2

BTW if you look closely at the open area between the spokes of the ORIGINAL "KEYSTONE" wheel (to me at least) there's a close resemblance to a certain design or object. That shape is lost in the current "teardrop" wheel. So should we call the current version "Teardropstones"

I think the original Kustomag was made around 1964-5? The centers were polished on the spokes, and natural in the lug area. In '67 the spokes chromed, and lug area was grey. In '68 to the end of the run in '72, the lug area was changed to black. 1973 brought on the dreadful connected spokes, and Unilug design.
