to me, "upside down" would mean the oil reservoir would be at the top. thinking that, your mounting would be "rightside up". in other words, your mounting would be considered normal. i know in the racing world, mounting them upside down reduces unsprung weight, and some shocks are designed to be mounted that way. afco [i think] says it doesn't matter which way you mount them, and some will not work mounted upside down because of the way the internals are designed. now that i've totally muddied the waters for you, why do you ask ?
