Working on cars teaches you patience... and every curse word imaginable.

I recall the trunk lite switch can be repaired if all the pieces are there, usually they just need to be kleened out removing any rust or oxidation. Note its the same as the parking brake switch except the electrical terminal is bent @ a 90 degree angle.

Just my $0.02... wink

If the '70 switch is anything like the '71 which I suppose it is, it is activated by a mercury float switch imbedded into the socket body of the switch assembly. This is not serviceable. The top of socket may just need cleaning and lubrication. Try a round brass bristle brush and some penetrating lube to get the spring to rebound. If the spring is broken, you maybe looking at a new trunk light switch. They are affordable on eBay.com and are not impossible to find with an unmolested wire harness.

Is it this that you are looking to re-refurbish:

This one is correct for 1970. That is what I have in my 70 Sport Satellite....spring loaded. The other style is mercury switch, from newer year . . .

Ok. Interestingly, the guy who is running the other auction may have made a mistake on the application chart of his because he lists a bunch of C body models that use the mercury switch style as early as 1969 "TRUNK LID LAMP- COURTESY LIGHT OPTION 69 70 71 72 73 MOPAR 71CN2-6W3"

My 71 Roadrunner uses this style too and it's not even on his application chart.

I believe yours can be taken apart to be cleaned and inspected if the back end does not have a piece of molded plastic preventing the removal of the 2 wires .
