Had this fuel cell made for the 'Cuda by Fuel Safe. It's an 18 gallon wedge cell for my road course/AutoX 'Cuda. It has a Holley VR2 mounted internally, which is basically two fuel pumps, with two -10 feeds. The pre filters mount in the tank as well, but are positioned directly under the fill plate for accessibility. You can see the two pick ups for the VR2 in the collector box, and the two smaller lift pumps on either side that continually fill the collector from the cell. This ensures the collector always has fuel for the the VR2 pump, regardless of G load. This also allows me to run just a few gallons of fuel for competition to help with the weight.

Pics are before the foam went in:

That is really really nice, dont even want to know what that set you back. Proper setups like that dont come cheap but peace of mind is priceless. I need to incorporate the wings that come off the front of the surge tank like yours. Thanks for sharing.

I understand you car is a 9/10's+ set-up, and that pick up system is tough to beat, but you felt the Hydramat was not up to the task?

Wasn't me, I wanted to use it! When I talked to Fuel Safe and ATL, they both told me that, "It hadn't performed to there expectations", and suggested the lift pumps.

I have no idea, probably some type of polymer bonded fabric that is a trade secret for the fuel cell companies.

Well technically everything does, and the reason the larger mats have multiple taps? Not sure there is limit to number of taps, nor what happens when suction exceeds flow capacity of the mat, Cavitation?

Awesome setup!
Are those Aeromotive 340 pumps?
I was hesitant to get them as they are Made in China. I went with a Walbro instead.
I am sure you wont have any problems with 4 fuel pumps though!

Thanks!

Yeah, Stealth pumps....made "offshore to Aeromotive spec by special Chinese workers". Not super happy about that, and didn't know until they were already installed, otherwise would have run Walboro's for sure. The suck parts is, I won't know if one quits....need to figure something out for that. Maybe a circuit light if the pump blows a fuse, but still won't tell me if it runs but doesn't pump.

Are the pumps wired to the same power switch or wired to individual switches? Each pump should make a distinct noise on each side of the cell while the engine is not running.
I would just listen closely and if it doesn't sound normal, then inspect further.

I just have one pump in the middle of my cell so it will be easy to hear when it gives out haha!

Also if all the pumps are suppose to come on at the same time, wire them with separate connectors so you can unplug all but one, then plug in another while the first gets unplugged and so on, that way you can test each pump individually. Also number each pump and connector, so you know which pump isn't running when it's connector is the one that's plugged in, if there is one not working during the testing.
