Does anyone know why the # 5 main cap is not machined all the way to the bottom of the cross bolt part like the other caps?
I have made some new tool steel caps with a larger cross section in the cross bolt area and dont know if I should machine the block deeper or clearance the cap.

Might have something to do with the reluctor wheel.
