What torque spec is used for these? I can't seem to find my notes on that or the box they came in last year. I sent a message to ARP and the reply was 100ft-lbs with moly and 130 with oil but that sounds high to me. Factory spec is 85. Engine is a B with BCR aluminum caps.
Thanks

7/16 ARP Main Studs are suppose to 90lbs according to the sheet that came with my studs. Is that the size you have?

First, thanks to everyone who responded. Even thought I searched for quite a while yesterday, I found my paperwork today. The machinist who installed the cap/girdle setup said 90 w/ARP moly so that's what I'll use unless someone can convince me 100 would be better. I don't think another 10ft-lb would distort the bore but what do I know, I haven't done any testing.

My ARP sheet says 90lbs with moly also. It also says to install the studs into the block by hand tightening them.

I am running the BB Mopar ARP main studs with aluminum caps in my B engine. They were machined, and I torqued them during assembly to 90 ft-lbs with ARP moly lube. The machinist actually stamped that on the block.

I don't want to steal this thread but does anybody know what it is on a small block with ARP studs? These are billet steel caps, middle are splayed.

I don't know if I got an 'old' box or a new one but the ARP main stud kit I just installed had an instruction sheet that said 100 ftlbs with ARP lube or 130 ftlbs with 30wt oil (big block) .

The torque of the ARP studs appears to be a mystery. I have the studs in both mains and heads on a small block. I also could not get what I felt was solid answers. I contacted ARP and discussed the various torques with there Technical Rep. The torque of 90 foot pounds is using their special lube. This product reduces the friction between the nut, threads on the stud and the block; therefore, less effort for the required clamping force. Using engine oil they recommend the higher torque meaning you have to put more effort to achieve the same clamping force. I don't know that this will clear up every question but I torque mine to what I was told and we shall see.
