Hi guys.. I wish you could help me defining some things in my Nitrous project.

Engine setup:
- 318 SB
- 2.02/1.60 ported J heads
- KB forged pistons (~11 CR)
- Scat H-Beam connection rods
- ARP main and Head studs
- 1.6 roller rockers
- Comp Cams XE284H cam 240/246 @.050
- Edelbrock Torker 2 with injector bungs
- EFI Megasquirt with 8 injectors
- Innovate LM-1 wideband O2 sensor
- 3.73 gears + ladder bars

The engine will run on ethanol. Wishing to make 400~450 hp + a 200~250 shot.

I´ve got a NOS 8 fogger Sportsman nitrous kit but also has a plate.

Questions:

1 - Should I use fogger or the plate ? I know the plate will have an easier installation... but foggers will distribute better the nitrous;

2 - Run the nitrous on ethanol or gasoline !? My engine will run on ethanol;

3 - How to tune the engine on nitrous. I will start with a 100hp shot. Then increase to 150hp, then 200hp. As I have a wideband sensor I think it will be easier. What I think it´s to tune the engine without the nitrous, then pull the shot and see the wideband logs. If the engine got rich, lean the mixture, if got lean enrich it. Is it right !? My EFI also can retard the timing. I think I should retard 2º every 50hp shot right !?

Could you give me more tips !?

Tune the motor on the plugs , nothing else comes close , drop to a colder plug & tune from there.

You wanna tune that way fine , stock up with some spare parts.

Contact Monte Smith here on the board. He is the nitrous guru! He will be able to give you some baseline tunes, and help you with the tuning process.

Yeah, I have contacted Monte but got no answer until now.

Come on... no more nitrous tuners or.... this is like that little secrets that people don´t want to tell ?
