If you were running a sock on you 3/8 fuel line and then it came off in the tank could it all of a sudden cause flooding at the carb???

If your not running a filter in line... yes it could,
but its not the sock, you just picked up crap. If
you had a inline filter I would tell you to blow
the sock off so its not restrictive(specially if its
a old sock)

I have a fram cannister filter then a filter right before the carb on both inlets...... so the sock is not needed....

BTW I am upgraing to 8an line now.... and a better flowing inline filter... should i not even run a sock on my 1/2" pickup ...

thx

Its not needed in a race car
EDIT
If your flooding check the float level again

Well since its a street car... the sock is a water
separator also... but I dont know if you'll find a
1/2" one

If you have an inline filter then you don't need the sock at all. Like Mr P Body said, I don't think you'll find a 1/2" one anyway. One inline filter is enough. CHIP
