I'm putting another junk yard reject car (1966 Dodge Coronet deluxe BB 4 speed car) together for limited street use, not a daily driver or road course race car. I put a SSBC front disc brake kit on it and it has the standard 10.5x2.5 rear drum brakes with a 1 1/16 bore size Dodge Caravan M,.C. Which type bake fluid would be the best for this application thanks in advance, I'm a drag racer and street guy, not a roundy round racer or autocross racer Thanks in advance

I use 4. You may find that bore of master not to your liking in a manual setup.

JUST NOW!!! on Mythbusters that principle was proven. A 1" dia hose, Adam blowing into the hose. Can lift a 1 1/8th pound weight.
The same hose, blowing into a plastic bag of whatever size it was, say 1 foot by 1 foot, he could lift 125 pounds. Yes he did state what the square inches was on the bag, and it was even drawn out on the bag, but I forget what it was.

What does that(Adam, the fairy tale teller blowing on a hose) have to do with dot 4 versus dot 3 brake fluid differences?

DOT 4 will likely have slightly higher boiling points - which is of interest if you will be driving some place with long downhills. The FMVSS only mandates the minimum boiling points so some DOT3 will have higher BP than DOT4s. A decent summary and link to the Brake fluid FMVSS DOT standards here: http://www.stoptech.com/technical-support/technical-white-papers/brake-fluidHowever Valvoline makes a brake fluid that meets both DOT 3 and 4. According to the MSDS, it does not contain Borate estor (as is typical in DOT 4s according to the linked article). My personal experience has been that it does not absorb moisture as quickly as Castrol's LMA DOT4. I bleed the brakes every year - usually in the spring or early summer.
