Cab_Burge I Win C Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 43,099 Bend,OR USA	You need to have the retainers and lash caps designed to work with each other, the Hemi lash caps are real short usually also so I wouldn't try and run them on a loose lash cam. I know racers that did and the lash caps would come off frequently and cause problems Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

It saves the valve tips and you need the extra surface area for the rollers. I use the Comp # 619 caps made for .308 valve stems. You have to use locks that are recessed for the caps. Use Comp # 610 locks (10 degree) It's not and absolute must,but as Mopar Rich says if you want to save your valve tip(5/16)then it is best to run them.We don't normally use them on the Indy Legends(11/32)stem unless we need added clearence or to adjust geometry.Make sure that the retainer,locks and lash caps are compatable there are a few different lengths and depths on the lash caps. It beats up the lash caps instead of the valve stems. 3ddart pro stock 3 Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 1,466 malvern, ohio	i have the 619 lash caps, but 7 degree locks and retainers on my motor. the locks are not recessed and the cam is a crane hyd. roller 610 and 574 on the intake (1.7 rockers on the corners and 1.6 on the inside valves) and .555 exh. my ? is do i need to change the retainer & locks to 10 degree on this setup? street sometime strip car. thanks, dave

But if the locks aren't cut or recessed for the edge of the lash cap you will have problems. It all depends on the locks. So mock one up, and see if the lash cap sits down on the valve tip as it should.
