But the inappropriate stuff was fun and entertaining. She must of thought it was run by a bunch of deplorables.

On a more serious note, Tom what about something here on this site? Make it a paid subscription section and let eberg and Cliff run it?

Honestly I prefer real magazines in the throne room but for their tech and wit I guess I'll have to deal with a tablet.

Sending emails to her are not going to get her to change her mind.

Sending them to her boss, otoh, might.

Tom, any chance you can salvage the tech articles and move them over here. If MA is dead and gone then there shouldn't be any copyright issue.

Rick, hope you end up someplace that lets you keep cranking out the tech. MA had the best tech info available from any magazine for a long, long time.

I have the complete web site backed up on my laptop.

Was hoping that the Magazine would continue but now?

I will do something with it , Just want to check with Rick first and make sure the mag is dead

Well now doesn't this just totally SUCK!!! I was wondering why I haven't been getting the last couple issue's....now here I find out why! Well
hope E-Booger and Gromer get a good gig wherever they land. As others stated, best tech anywhere was from M.A. R.I.P. and goodnight.

We'll get it up somewhere for sure. Too much useful info to flush! I'm thinking maybe where I land they'll want it, or Tom can host it, I have also secured a new site: moparaction.net . Might be MIA for a few weeks but it will be back for sure. Unfortunately moparaction.com has been registered thru 12/2017.

A few "what do you call a hundred lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?" worries, but I think we can sneak past them.

Well if AMG closed down Mopar Action their accountants will make them write down any assets which would include the copyright on the tech articles. So someone should be able to buy the legal rights pretty cheap. Or a person could just publish the stuff on the assumption that someone who has closed the magazine doesn't care about the content. Abandoned assets or something like that....

There's lots of legal angles to this. They certainly own the page layouts and so forth, but I am led to believe that both they and Harris paid me only for "rights of first insertion" (no wisecracks, please), and that I still own 100% the photos and text (technically I was never an employee, always a freelancer), but since nobody at AMG will talk to me, I need to CMA. They have almost unlimited financial HP.

Since you were a contract employee it probably rests on what your contract with MA said. Knowing MA there probably wasn't a written contract so it boils down to what Cliff would say under oath. I'm sure he would say something along the lines that "Eberg retained all rights to his words and his photos, we just paid him for a one time use in the magazine". That would be backed up by the fact that you were allowed to publish the Tech Article CD's.

I re-upped at The Nats and had to buy the December issue at B&N.
So there was a January issue printed?
Wth is up with the new publisher?
I liked the old mag just fine, with great tech and politically incorrect humor.

Did the same here. Told wife what happened and I figure my money is gone. Oh well. I liked both Mopar Action and Mopar Muscle. They each did certain things well and the contrast in writing styles was welcome. Made getting two magazines worth while.

Understood. Both my friend Ray and myself were not previously subscribers in the last year to MA. We were subscribers years ago. When we heard the magazine was in trouble we wanted to support it and both of us signed up for subscriptions at the MoPar Nationals. Neither has received a single issue and after reading this entire thread it certainly looks like we won't be receiving any issues. Both Ray and myself assumed we were signing up with the new publisher. So basically they just took our money and totally ripped us off by cancelling the magazine. I didn't even get a receipt. Neither did Ray. I thought that was weird at the time but I did get a t shirt. I guess it turned out to be a very expensive t shirt!

Well, I guess I am down to one Magazine. MCG has really turned me off in recent years so I dropped that and now MA is gone so all I am left with is MM.

I tell you one thing. NEVER AGAIN will support any kind of magazine that is in a start up phase or doesn't have a some sort of history of stability. True anything can happen just as some subscribers didn't get their full subscriptions from Harris but at least they got part of it. I got absolutely nothing except a crummy t shirt.

In case anyone is interested I did email the lady on the preceding page. I got a response that said they are trying to rectify the situation and if they do indeed pull the plug totally anyone who subscribed with them will get a refund. I would paste their response here but I am on my iPad and it won't let me copy and paste. So maybe there is some hope for MA?
