I'm gonna try this question here as I need some quick suggestions and the truck forum isn't very busy most the time.

You might try cleaning connections at the PCM and at the trans. The PCM reads load and speed through the Throttle Position Sensor and the Vehicle Speed Sensor and controls transmission shifts. As for the enlarged hole, I would think it would only make a very slight difference. Also on this old of a truck, try cleaning every ground connection you can find.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

hook up a scanner and check live data look at gov pressure vs des press, also output sensor rpm the hole in plate is most likely for the rev, checkball.also check to see that the tv cable is returning all the way and moves free.

The tranny guy did mention that the check ball had something to do with reverse.

i dont think a PCM would cause that at all....the chrysler trans i've seen with that problem have been two things:
low on fluid
governor pack

I say that because i think you can get a governor "pack" off of chrysler which takes care of the sensor and solenoid...if you PM me your VIN and details i can check...

Not sure why your trans guy could not get a SEPARATOR PLATE and if the plate holes are to big it or dont seal, it will cause problems.

Well, after diagnostics the tranny shop thinks the front pump is bad.

Excuse me while I go pull my hair out.

Diagnostics can be tough. I wish I could help you but I cant. It sucks that they THINK its the front pump. That means it may not be. I hope their right for you. mike

Sound's like it's time for a new shop.

Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

Karas did rebuild it for me, he always does good work.

I took the truck to Richards Transmissions for a complete diagnosis. Another $116 later I was told the tranny filter element had sucked up into a hole somewhere and was blocking the fluid. New filter and I've driven it several days now with no problems, thank goodness. I didn't want to have to pull this tranny again, and I'm sure Butch doesn't either. LOL!
