Anyone know how many amps my stock 1954 Chrysler starter solenoid draws ?? I’m not talking about the 16 kazilon Amps coming down the big wire used to turn the motor. What I’m looking for is the amperage required to pull in the magnet.

I have a 54 Dodge truck factory service manual. In there, everything electrical is tested by voltage drop. They allow .10 volt drop per connection. A .20 volt drop is excessive. The whole 6 volt system only has 46 amps available, according to the book.

Unfortunately, the Dodge truck starter in 54 was foot activated. You stepped on a pad above the gas to activate the starter. Gene
