on your car I would probably just do gloss black. A dark gray could look good also

dark grey, dark bronze, a charcoal metallic, a deep burgundy, whatever secondary color works with the drivetrain, interior and wheels. I like dark cages, easier to look through; painted mine B7 suede (B5 car in/out).

I did my chassis with gloss black with clear coat with silver metallic in the clear... I liked it, gave it some sparkle
