The problem with adding a pearl to it is its another
coat(not thick) and if you add a metallic you can add
it in the clear.... and a chassis is hard enough to
paint with just 1 or 2 coats

It may be just as easy to paint it galaxy grey again although black with a pearl over it might look interesting.

I say black for the simple reason that black goes with any color and is simple to repair. You may like a Black Dart now but later... taste's change as does Owners, make life easier.

Jimmy have you named your car?

I know it's probably still hurts, but how about ole smokey. Sorry I couldn't resist.

Ok ok back to the color, man that black is a hot dude if you race on a hot summer day.

I like the hammer tone, but I thought I heard somewhere that they would no longer certify a chassis if it was hammer tone. I may have that messed up, but I know I heard that somewhere.

Hey Jimmy, my cousin was once given a chassis to race, but it was pink, looked good with a black body, if you like dirt cars.

If I was building a new chassis I would get it all welded up and then take it and have it powder coated. Or local guy will powder coat one for $300.

Tell us what the current plan is for the car, you using this chassis, you selling it and building a new chrome moly chassis or what?

A friend has his chassis powder coated with hammertone grey. It's a black car, looks nice together and the powder coat is very durable. Yes, the whole chassis was done and the body put on afterwords...

I do like that black with pearl idea too

I don't think I would powder coat a chassis you just never know when you have to add something.

As for plans we just started working on the car actually this week.

Still not sure what color though

I will keep the details quite for now
Let's just say it's having several issues taken care of.

How about a couple coats of clear and that's it so you can see the metal and the likely clean welds without rust

if your dreaming of your car then it's your dream car....

That's funny....but since the name thing has been brought up....I'm thinking more like "WELL DONE" not only befit's the unfortunate Dart roast but also how awesome the car is built....

My chassis is powdercoated and cleared, the black with a pearl in the clear sounds very cool...

The black with a pearl coat sound's like a good choice to me, you could add some red pearl to go along with the red butt stripe.

Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

i was hardcore on black chassis's but when i inherited a box of gunmetal mag wheel paint i thought what the hey... & gave it a go. easy to touch up & it makes spectators look harder thinking it's something exotic. it's hard wearing & doesn't chip unless you really belt something against it.

I have been thinking the same thing since Darren mentioned it. Sounds like a plan.
