Here are pics of the correct valve. It is manually operated, not vacuum like that on the 1970 version of the valve.
Can you pst a pic of your engine compartment showing the right side fire wall assembly?

Sorry, the car is not here at my location.

OK, so it is on the inside of the car and not inline in the heater hoses in the engine compartment.

It appears that the replacement one from the link above is to mount in the engine compartment, and again it does not appear to have a place to mount a cable control.

This is a picture of the replacement items from the link above.

If I am not mistaken the style valve that you may have is located on the heater core itself. Looks like your car has no A/C.
I have a 68/69 B-body heater core. There is a lever that opens and closes the valve. A control cable connects to it. I can take pics of this valve for you tomorrow so can see what it looks like.
The assembly you have pictured is not for the B-Body cars.

MY car IS an A/C car. The valve I have pictured is supposed to be a replacement water valve for a 69-71 A/C car and the description says it is manual but then also says it is vacuum operated. The part on the top appears that it is a vacuum apperatus.

If I can make a suggestion. Try accessing the valve in your car; take it out and look to see what you have so you know exactly which one you need. If possible post a pic of it on this thread.
Alot of times aftermarket companies innadvertantly put incorrect pictures on websites and catalogs. At least on this site we can tell you what's correct and what's not.

Factory air equipped B-bodies from 1966 thru 1970 The water valve IS mounted to the firewall, with the backside of the valve actually protruding thru the firewall itself into the interior of the car. All valves from 1966 thru 1969(not sure of the 1970 valves ) ARE cable controlled.

This valve is designed to mount to the passenger side inner fender ala E-body and 71 up B-body. And regardless of what someone says or states is NOT correct for anything 1969 b-body in any way shape or form

This appears to be the correct style valve for 1969

The correct valve mounts to the firewall with 3 of these screws

Thanks Bill.

That is what I was finally beginning to figure out for myseld but glad you confirmed it.

Now the question is, are there any replacement valves out there for this?

Hard to find piece.
NOS = very hard to find + expensize when you do
Aftermkt = replacements used to exist, but didn't have the thermostatic control connection on it that goes to the bottom of the box
Used = Not real tough to find, but may(read will) need rebuilt

A friend of mine used to have a couple of them NOS, I'll ck and get back to you if he does (BUT, he has the cars they fit so don't get your hopes up)

Do you know who rebuilds these valves?

NAPA sells a seal kit for these for $10 or so. I think it consists of the round rubber diaphragm & a washer

Below is where it mounts on a 69 Charger firewall

Thanks, Yes, I now know where the original one is installed. Where I made the mistake and got everyone confused is with the fact that the "REPLACEMENT" one I purchased from Megaparts really is not a correct replacement for a 1969 model. That was the one that I was trying to determine a location for.
