I'm building a 360 to bracket race. looking to run mid 11s in a 3200lb Duster. Looking to run the motor to around 6800-7000rpm max.

I have been offered a Torker II and wanted to know if that has worked for most in the past. Engine builder wants a single plane so this would be the best option?

Thanks guys

Why do you think that you have to spin that engine at that RPM to achieve what you are looking or? My low buck 360 will do that and all it has is an LD340 on it and never sees over 6000 for better longevity. And a 540/557 hydraulic flat tappet cam. Ran 11.70's with 60CC unported 1.88 or 2.02 heads (made no difference at the RPM range I was running) valve heads and a 485/495 cam, still not seeing over 6000.
Runs consistant 11.40's.

Interesting. I am curious about your combo as I am trying to keep this as lowbuck as possible

You have PM.

Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks. But: Don't fix it, if it Works!

currently working on an 360 budget bracket motor for a 71 Demon..

I am using parts that i have also.

bore 4.020 bore with kb107 pistons, block needs to be milled to get to zero deck..pistons down .016 or might use thinner head gaskets .028...

cam ...either mp.557 solid or hughes HE4449AL hydraulic 244/248 @.050 .540/557...

intakes...probably edelbrock airgap depending on heads...

heads are the big questions...have reworked J heads..or eddy magnums...

got holley 750 dp...

904 trans with TA 3800 series converter (4700 flash)...gears either 4.30 or 4.56 depending on tire diameter..

was figuring with the eddy heads and mp cam car should be able to go 11.50s out here in the desert.

I run that Hughes cam along with the KB107's and Hughes stage 1 heads in a 3000 lb Duster with 4.30 gears and a 29.5 X 10.5 M/T slick and run consistant 11.40's with an LD340 intake and Chuck Nuytenn preped 750 Holley.
Ran 11.70's with stock 1.88 valve 587 heads other than being cut to 60 cc's with no porting. Tried 2.02 915's cut to the same cc's with no porting and ran the same just like many machinists told me would happen. Never see over 6000 RPM.
