I'm hearing pretty serious rumblings that the Salt Lake City Utah Rocky Mountain Raceway is going IHRA? OK IHRA guys how's that going to be? Many people with experience with both NHRA and IHRA?

IHRA is much easier to deal with, they dont require
a phyical till 8.50 for you license. They try to be
more of a family thing(and they do)... most of the
IHRA tracks allow overnight camping

Probably comes down to a $$ thing. I know the track I raced at in SoDak flipped back and forth a couple of times. They've been IHRA for a long time now though. I did note that the track does still use "K" rail and I believe the NHRA wanted them to have concrete walls the length of the track (like Vegas). Smaller tracks obviously can't spend that kind of money. Down side is that you won't have a "team" finals to attend if that's your bag....unless you feel like towing east of the Mississippi.

Here in Texas we have quite a few IHRA tracks as well as NHRA.I like IHRA quite well they are racer friendly they also have a bracket finals here in Texas.I also like NHRA ok but they sometimes act as if thier POOP dont stink!

I wish there were more IHRA tracks out west. Two tracks here in the Phoenix area both are NHRA too bad the west side does not go to IHRA was an AHRA track years ago.

Still Broke

The only thing that really kinda bothers me if it is going IHRA as I was told today is that it'll be the only one that I go to, all the other tracks I race at are NHRA, I've really liked having the ETI tech sticker that worked anywhwere, and not sure yet on what'll be the deal with the car number, heck didn't see this coming and I'm paid up two years, all together though I've allways heard how racer freindly IHRA is. Hopefully that's a plus, but honestly that doesn't fit the way RMR has ussually operated.

The inspection sticker is more of a track thing(maybe
they deal with other tracks on this as well) but the
IHRA has it also. I ran my NHRA numbers for along
time at the IHRA track till I signed up with the
IHRA using my NHRA number... it was fine(no one
had my number). The IHRA does push the tracks to be
racer/family friendly

IHRA in my experience is much better for the sportsman racer thats thier base and they take better care of the base unlike NHRA who for the most part seems to think fuel cars and prostock are thier base IHRA seems to have more options for the little guy the only thing they might could pick up from NHRA is being a little more picky on safety.
