This was an excellent write-up, Samy. Nice work. Jeff and I love the show. I've been going since 2000. I started using the Air-tel hotel in 2010 and in 2011 I went on my first Malibu cruise. Up until 2011, I always just drove south after a half-day at work on Friday. For me, the show used to just be about hunting parts and looking at finished cars to see how stuff fits together. Just like it is with other things in life, things change. I have the opinion now that while the show, the cars and the great scenery are great, I really enjoy joking around with other Mopar guys at these events! It is the PEOPLE that make this a fantastic event! Steve(68HemiB) is a crack-up! I love the sexy pose he did for Samy in the above picture... I enjoyed hanging out with everyone! Samy, Darius, Dennis, Mick, Dwayne, Sandy from Nova Scotia, (Along with many other friendly Canadians) Shelby, Larry and my Brother-in Law Jeff. I was able to avoid Phil a Buster, though the guy seemed to never be more than 50-60 feet from me at any given moment. I did end up buying a door. The guy was actually giving it away, but I couldn't let the guy off that easy. The glass and internal hardware was easily worth the $20 I gave the guy. Samy was convinced that it would fit in the trunk of the Challenger. He was right.

Great job documenting the event! Both the spring and fall flings are on my bucket list. I got to get my Challenger down there!

Thank you all for the kind words. Again, it was a fun event and I always enjoy sharing with those who didn't get the opportunity to experience it.

The shady folk in Samy's final photos are members here.
Are they to remain nameless?

That's awesome! I mean that in a good way. Someone had a little too much fun. Hints have been given out. If you think hard enough, you'll be able to guess who's who. As for the Scion being thrashed, it was fun. I was just getting way too confident on the track and I just wanted to push it one step further. The lap before that, I had spun out on the track and I was trying to ease it down on this lap before I got into the groove again. I toned it down way too much and made a fatal error... braking in the middle of a turn. The Scion is currently at the body shop. We just sent it in and told them to fix everything.

AWESOME write up Sammi! You could have a backup career writing! Great story for those who can't get here. Thanks Darius! I've actually considered it. I wouldn't mind being a freelance magazine writer. It was good seeing you again and hanging out. I hope you fix your electrical issue with the fuel pump and hopefully the 2.76:1 gears I gave you won't whine.

I think you came by my swap space but you didn't buy anything. What's up with that? Oh, and again I want to thank Diane from CPW for letting me ride along in her blue Sport Satelite.

It's too early to think. But s'evetS rear end looks familiar from the thong pic. And the guy with the tire is Brad Pitt. Or Kevin Costner.

Glad yo had a great time. I've been going to on the show for almost 24 years now and make it a mandatory vacation stay. Though I wasn't able to join in the festivities and was mostly sick all weekend, it was great to see old friends and enjoy the show of cars. Was this kid trying to make a deal on your air cleaner scores?
