SERIOUSLY, I'VE READ SEVERAL POSTS AND I AM IGNORANT TO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 440-1 AND SAY PROCOMP OR EDDY HEADS ECT. WILL 440-1 HEADERS WORK WITH PROCOMP OR EDDY HEADS. I BELIEVE THE FLANGE BOLTS ARE ALL THE SAME??? WHAT OR IS THERE AN ADVANTAGE???

header flanges are the same but they ports on the heads are raised about 3/8 of an inch so not in the stock location.

The intake valve is moved and you need special rocker arms that are .800 offset.

The 440-1 flow about 80cfm out of the box better than those heads and are capable out flowing them big time with fully ported.

They are in a different league, big step up from Procomp/Eddies.

SO WOULD 440-1 HEADERS WORK ON PROCOMP OR EDDY HEADS??? - THE FLANGES ARE THE SAME, BUT WOULD THE PORTS LINE UP??

yes, but if they were build for 440-1 head they will be setup for a higher exhaust port location so on procomp/eddie heads they will hang down 3/8 - 1/2 lower on the bottom of the car but that shouldn't be a problem on a race car.

Depending on the header design, they may also hit the steering box, oil pan (due to angle), etc.

THX, BECAUSE THE CAR CAME W/ WHAT I WAS TOLD WERE 440-1 HEADERS (CUSTOM MADE TO WRAP AROUND CAGE ECT.) JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THEY WOULD WORK W/ MY PROCOMP HEADS (ENGINE IS AT MACHINE SHOP SO I CAN NOT TEST FIT THEM - I JUST MOCKED THEM UP ON STOCK HEADS AND 440 BLOCK) - CUSTOM HEADERS LIKE THE THESE ARE HIGH DOLLAR AND THAT WILL SAVE ON SOME $$$.
