I am using a 4.500 stroke x 4.500 bore with 572-13 indy heads and i need pistons.

I am using a 6.950 GRP rods and want to zero deck the block.I am not going to o-ring the heads so i will be taking enough off the block to get rid of the receiver grooves.

My main question is does anyone know of a set of off the shelve pistons that will work in this motor since i can deck the block down to the piston height.

Trying to stay away from custom pistons if possible.

Thanks in advance

You need a piston compression height near 1.55-1.56 range..I wouldnt deck the crap out of that block, to make odd ball pistons work. It will come back and bite you later

there are shelf pistons but that doesn't mean they'll work for your application. i'm doing a couple sets of customs right now. one of them is for the same exact rod length and bore size. if you want more info let me know. i'll be happy to share what i know.

Do the valve angles of the 572-13 make a shelf piston even possible? One more tidbit from the peanut gallery, might want to check rod to cam clearance with the GRP's
