I would have to unload trailer to show you what I have.

My trailer floor is engineered structural alluminum. This is really the only way my deal will work is on steel or alluminum floor.

I use my winch. When I am through I can remove the winch and unplug and put away in the cabinet. It is a 3500 lb winch not a cheapo. When I need it again plug the cord back into the connector and slip the winch back on its mount.

There is no real tripping hazard when it is removed. The only thing sticking up out of the floor is the heads of two large carriage bolts. Everone who has seen this has flipped out.

If I ever get the time I am going to make a bunch and sell them. The plan was to make these and sell them to Exiss the manufacturer of my trailer. They have put their focus back into the horse business. So not much to get into as far as car trailer accessories with them.

My enclosed trailer is only 22' long and space up front is tight so I didn't want to permanently mount a winch up front.
I had the fab guy here at work weld a standard 2" trailer hitch receiver tube(bought it at Tractor Supply) on to a 8"x8" steel plate. I had the tube built up off the plate about 3". I mounted the plate in the front of my trailer with a similar 8"x8" plate bolted under the center frame channel, under the trailer.
Then I mounted my winch on a receiver plate that slides into the receiver tube. I can remove my winch for storage and slide it in the receiver tube when I need it. Sorry no pictures available of the winch right now, the trailer is buried under snow.

I needed to be able to drive a golf cart over the winch. I looked into making a box beneath the floor to house the winch. Putting the winch off to the side did not suit me either.

That's why I machined a plate with key holes in it that the winch attaches to. Then there is a plate beneath the floor that is threaded for the carriage bolts that thread in from the top. In then welded the plate to the crossmembers beneath the floor.

I cramed a lot into a 40 ft gooseneck. Car, golf cart and a full living quarters. Not to mention storage to completely rebuild the engine at the track along with a toolbox capable of handling tools to do so. The trailer is so tightly packed I had to come up with a place to house the two spare tires. They are mounted behind the rear axle much like the spare on a newer pickup truck.
