rm23j8g OP super stock Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 736 Virginia	I'm starting to think about rebuilding the 318 in my '70 Fury. I've pulled plenty of B body engines, both from the top in the old days and, more recently, from the bottom, which works great and I prefer now. Are there any special tricks as far as engine removal/installation are concerned on these....and, is it even possible to remove/install from underneath like a B/E body?

05dakota I Live Here 0 Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 17,861 albany ny	cant come out the bottom unless you remove the entire front clip since there is no removable k frame but only a front sub frame which includes the frame rails.

Unless you really want to pull both fenders, the hood, front bumper, rad support, etc. and then drop the subframe, complete with all front suspension. Have pulled C-body subframes before, and fun it ain't. Buy a Hybrid!! I need your gas!!! Currently spending $1,000 a month to feed the Hemis!! Looking for that elusive CHEAP 71-72 Plymouth B-body 2 door OR 71-72 Coronet 4 door!!!

Okay....that's what it looked like to me, but wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something obvious. Is there room for the trans to come out attached to the engine? Looks like it's gonna be the old hoist/oak tree route!

Slides in and out real nice with the rad core support out of the car which is a bolt on item unlike A/B/E cars. Yes,it is easier to remove with tranny attached,IMHO. '68 Newport Custom Barge on a Budget!! BOAB 1973 Satellite WAGON! 318- 3 on the tree!! 2008 Chrysler 300c HEMI!
