I am setting up my new steering box, and running into a couple centering issues. I am now looking at the idler arm as the problem!

This is the Arm I currently have installed in my car.

It says on it:

57302
IFO
0. or Q13
USA

I can't find any reference to this idler arm anywhere. My concern is that is has a steep offset to the passenger side of the car. I think my 1968 B-Body should have a straight one!

Any ideas???

If the length is the same as the pitman arm, I doubt it would be any problem. The curve was probably designed to improve clearance. Looking at your pictures, I can see that this isn't a car built to factory specs, so I see no problem with it.

It is in fact slightly shorter, about 1/4." the curve lessens the clearance as it contacts the pan before the outboard part of the idler arm can get full swing. If it were straight, it would have more clearance.

All the suspension is factory "Spec" as far as fit, form, function.

Yea, but you are running the Milodon wide road race pan. Idlers get close and many times contact that pan depending how the aftermarket decides to change their parts. And a buildup of factory clearances. That aftermarket part might fit a stock pan.

The aftermarket Moog and TRW idler and pitman from 25 years ago does not look like the some other house or off brands today. And in cases the Moog and TRW has changed.
