In 2015, Chrysler changed the transmission in the 200 models from a 6 speed automatic with a console mounted shifter to a 9 speed auto with a roatary knob mounted on the dash. Seems they had a LOT of trouble with the new set up. Anyone know if they got these issues resolved for 2016? Wife is looking to buy a new 200, but we may get her a low mileage 2014 just to stay clear of these transmission issues. Thanks, Brian They get most of their bad reputation from rental car usage it seems. It's an adaptive transmission and has a hard time adapting to many different drivers. They really should have a standard setting for fleet vehicles. There have been many software updates and even some hardware changes. You might want to look at some Jeep forums since they were the first ones to get it. It's coming to the new Pacifica minivan next.

It's a moot point with us now. We found a 2014 200 Limited, 3.6L, 6 speed(with a shifter, not a knob) with 9,515 miles on saturday. She fell in love with it and now it lives with us. I can only hope that this car gives us as good a service as our 2004 Intrepid SE that I bought new in Dec'03 (yep, it has the dreaded 2.7L V6 that everyone said wouldn't last). As of now that car/engine has 270,000 miles, and still going.
