Is it correct that on a 70 Roadrunner or GTX, from the factory, a chrome handled air grabber switch was sometimes used instead of the red? I have seen the chrome one on a handful of cars but mainly red. The switch was missing on my Roadrunner 30 years ago when I bought it and back then I just put on a chrome.

Thanks !

It's a replacement switch that was a heater switch used a few years earlier on C-bodies. All switches were factory red. Here is what you have...

I've only seen red. My 70 GTX the switch is red.

The lever was red plastic from the factory on production cars.
As stated the chrome plated one is a heater switch and body.
The correct red lever body will have this number 2947776
silk screened on.
Heater switch body does not have this but a different number cast into it but will do the job.

Thanks the info. I see the chrome switches are advertised by some as air grabber switches but I thought that might not be the case. I've had 3 or 4 air grabber cars over the years and they all had red switches. I've got the correct red one to install on my Roadrunner.

Anyone need a chrome heater switch? It works great.

You could paint the switch handle red. Not many people would know the difference.

If you break off the nubs on the back I can repair them.
