Very cool. Can we see more of the car? Do you have a class in mind? Not the most recent pic but what I have on the computer, have posted progress pics of the car in the past but the engine switch is the most recent update

That is NOT a stock block,,,,,,wonder if it's a water block,,,,,,, Block is solid billet BAE block (no water passages) same with the heads. Only really interested in getting this project running and at the track hopefully this summer at this stage no ET target in mind would just like to have it go point a to b as a start.

nice ride. this brings up a QQQQQ I've been thinking about. will BAE heads fit on a factory 440 block? Even if those heads could be made to fit, that stock 440 block would be reduced to shrapnel about 1 second into the run. LOL

Engine is a BAE -.500 billet block with Brad VI heads 471 CID All pretty standard alcohol engine internals I had the mechanical injection system flowed by Travis Quillen Transmission is a Lencodrive unit set up as a 3 speed ( decided we did not need the fourth gear). Rear end is M/W aluminum modular unit.

Holy crap, what are you expecting for power out of this thing? Should make 1800 hp without leaning on it very much, our goal is to get it on a chassis dyno by the fall.

Which heads and rocker gear to you go with? I've seen some awesome looking BAE race parts on a friends BAE #8 race motor OOPS, I just read the second page Building new combinations of race parts like your doing take time, effort and money Keeping it at or below 1800 HP is going to be very hard, me thinks

All the bare aluminum and steel is back from being anodized or plated and the 12 point black ARP hardware throughout car. These little details add some expense but hopefully add to the finish of the car.

Building the car for a couple of classes in our area Top Eliminator class where dragsters and door cars run under T/S and T/D rules and a Door Slammer class that runs on a .400 tree with a min dial. So basically we will start out running as a pretty quick bracket car. Down the road who knows ?

Bad to the bone! Dumb question, but is this the same car that was originally built by JCR Chassisworks? Also this thing outta run bottom 6's huh? Different car than the JCR build...that is a very nicely built car for sure. Even considering that this is the same car I will take as a complement. The way I have supercharger pullied we wont be making enough power for bottom sixes and the driver is not ready for that matter. We will try to take it one step at a time.

Getting closer !
Vent tank and lines running from burndown tubes to the back of the car. Decided better to have any oil behind the rear wheels and I see more cars with the vent tank in the rear more recently.
Should be firing car up pretty soon !

For the vent tubing 1 1/4 inch is specified by NHRA for blown alcohol. NHRA also lists some different types of "approved vent tube". The spec tubing is available on line for example at quartermax for $11 -$20/foot. Spent way too much time looking for alternatives as well 1 1/4 is not a popular ID. Good vibrations sells a simple PVC hose however PVC hose does not stand up well to methanol or oil. The line I used is PVC with a urethane coating on the inside it is actually air seeder hose that I had laying around right under my nose the whole time. In theory it should stand up well but we will see. The urethane coating is intended for reduce wear flowing abrasive material in the hose. You can buy it at most farm supply stores. If I recall this came from the John Deere dealership.

Here are a few more pics of the routing of the vent lines from the burn down tubes, through fire wall and finally along frame rail. My fabricator built a catch can at the low point of the tubing so any oil that accumulates in the lines can be drained from the system.

To finish off the engine bay got the valve covers the hydrographics treatment. Have had no time for the car recently but will get things wrapped up on the build this summer.

Must be a street car,the radio is still there.Just need some lightweight speakers. Things are not always as they appear... did not take too long to glue together a nice face plate to give the appearance of a radio. If I had a heater control I would try to do the same as well. I like it better than a gaping hole in the dash. Will be removing the gauges from the dash as they are no longer needed as well.

OCD guy wonders if you can get MSD decals for that ignition box so they're not upside down? What a Beautiful build!!! can't believe this is into page 3 and I just noted it! Yeah the points box upside down drives me a little crazy as well but I will have to learn to live with it any decent sign shop could repro that sticker for ya.

Trip to chassis dyno has been delayed I had to send racepak back for firmware update as it would not read new sensors (EGT's). Waiting for box to come back and will reschedule hopefully before end of Feb. Going to watch a friends Bonneville car on the dyno next friday so will post a video of how that goes.

Still in the middle of a deep freeze up here ! -20 C is the high today ! Needs to get close to freezing to do the dyno session. Having been messing with the tune a little and have it starting and running better. Here is a link to a start and idle video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXDdvGJOtLY&feature=youtu.be

Do you have anyone help you tune the car? I know of a pretty good tuner up in the frozen tundra..
Looks great I am sure you are itching to see what it will do

Yes, Matt Blasco is going to be tuning the car, he has the Dirty Twin Turbo Dart that has some done very well at Drag Week, he knows how to make some power and has some experience with BigStuff3. I am getting itchy to make some noise with this thing all it has been doing is burning a hole in my pocket for several years now.

Sounds like you have a good handle on the tune. Neil Richards(cream dream) was who I was referring to, but sounds like you have that handled for sure.

Thanks DTHemi, I decided to redo the front spoiler so the body lines match better and will lower front spoiler another 1 1/2 inches just not happy with the current front spoiler. The racepak is back working fine it just needed a firmware update ( racepak even covered the return shipping and this V300 is likely 12 years old. Ready for the dyno as soon as the weather improves.

Just back from Lethbridge having Duster tuned on the dyno. Session went well and we wrapped up at midnight. No hp number between tire spin, short wide open hits in high gear and there is really no tipping into the throttle. Makes 32 psi at 7500 RPM not leaning on it. I have never seen anything quite so violent on the dyno. Car has a great stable tune on with a steady 3.9 AFR and around 1100 F egt across all cylinder. How do you not like efi. Here is a link to some dyno pulls. https://youtu.be/f2FFo8q7zLQOne more step ! We will be participating in a track rental in June is the next step.

My pleasure its quite a journey, the video really does not do justice to the pull. First stab on the throttle scared the heck out of me. Going to be interesting to hook this thing.

I know you said you hoped to run some Top Sportman races. I hope you have some locally as my Friends really got hit when IHRA discontinued all the classes and went ET only. Several of them already sold their cars to move into something slower and more repeatable for the big money bracket races.
