I blew up my small block at the end of the season so I'm moving to the Gen 3 platform.

I'm a bracket racer who makes 200 runs a season on average. My small block made 625 hp or so, and my goal is to make closer to 700 with this Hemi.

This is what I have gathered so far. Still waiting on the pistons to show up but everything else is in my or the machine shop's possession.

2004 5.7 .010 over bore
ARP Main and Head Studs
4.050 SCAT Crank
Scat H beam rods
Custom JE pistons, 15cc Dome, shooting for 13:1
Cometic head gaskets
Apache heads with some porting
Custom Camshaft 258/264@.050, .620/.630
Ritter intake, Dominator Flange, short version
Stock lifters and valvetrain
My trusty E85 1050 Dominator by AJ Casini
MSD 6 hemi with the 06+ style coils to fire it.
727, 8" Ultimate converter that flashed to 5800 behind my 450" small block.
4.10 rear gear for now.

My goal is to run 10.0's at 3350#. If its faster that's cool too. Will it happen, I dunno, but we're gonna find out. If it doesn't, I have shoe polish.

Still need to acquire headers, oil pan and other little items as we begin assembly.

For better or worse I'll share what I learn as we go and how it runs. Shout out to Ray (sixpackgut) and Rod (Just-A-Dart) for their help selecting pieces for this deal and sharing what they have learned.

I'm thinking it would exceed your expectations. That cam and those heads will make some serious steam.

That is a very similar build other than the cam. What are you putting it in that weighs 2300? Roadster?

it will be really great when there is a bunch of us to compare notes with. For a while now, its only been Me, Steff and Rick that have been able to ask each other questions about things and I have learned a lot from those guys so it should only help the more people we get to get info from.

The one day when me and Steff were at the track together, When Steff started his car, me and my friends all looked at each other and said the same thing. They sounded exactly alike.

Tall order for sure, but I think if you open the heads, at that compression, you might be there. I have been contemplating one, but I see so few bracket car builds. I averaged a little over 100 passes on my car, and +50 in other peoples cars this year....We had a bunch of rain outs, so it was a light season...I will follow the build, hope you include pics...

Looks like it will be good bracket race engine.

But I think HP with the parts in that list is more like 600-640HP

That intake needs lots of work. (A blend job will not fix it. )

Can you share any pictures of the ports and chamber after porting?
