bought crank & rods from a guy who said bearing was spun.when I picked them up,I was rushing to get the stuff loaded,did'nt have time to look things over.looks like oil starved journal,crank just needs to be polisted.surface is in good shape.but bearing surface and rod is discolored,from high heat.are these rods good to resize a,are should I get new ones.these are eagle rods

I resized a 340 rod,which was very discolored, to save it. This was before I had any money and was still young enough to not care if it was possible/advisable to do so . Put in new bolts,resized, and it worked out fine. It made many trips to 7000 r.p.m., some with nitrous,and was still in the car when I sold it.

I wouldn't use it, especially on a race motor.
