I will DVR it and start watching an hour or so into it. If not, there will be war with the wife because I start my ADD/OCD/whatever else I have and channel surf.
Better to start later and just skip the commercials.

Better to start later and just skip the commercials. That's really the smart way to do it but with the long program (2 hour) I'll stick it out. I would LOVE to know how much they make in advertising dollars during this show. Big money with it being so popular and I'm happy about it as it keeps the show around as others die off.

The early start times is one of the few nice things about the left coast time zone. I'll still be in bed by 21:30 without a fight with the better half!!

Dave is a cool guy and a hell of a driver was and still is after the tv show.

Well if I watched the same show , Dave is the one that started that crap. Called them man a Bi""h. Coffee wouldn't be the only thing I would throw at someone. Now the other guy may have been talking smack but if Dave was well enough to drive and talk crap. He should have handled his own business. To me it made Dave look like the Bi'ch. As far as Chuck , Come on cheap shots to make himself look like a Bad man. My 2 cents

Wonder how many Crower shirts they will sale today? they seemed to prevail last night, great show last night. I am sure there was some antagonizing going on prior off camera to make Dave do that, Clark got what he deserved after throwing coffee or whatever it was.....

It's funny how quick people want to scrap with someone who is injured.
I came out of hospital on a Friday. That Sunday, what was supposed to be a good friend, took a shot at me. Other friends stopped it. Any other time he would have been looking for his teeth. It's been 15 years, he wants to be buds again. This elephant don't forget.

I'm amazed at how many people don't see the "arrest, bail, attorney needs $10,000, 5 court appearances, miss work, finally get probation + $1,000 court costs" train wreck coming with these bad-ass remarks. Someone does something you don't like, you break his teeth, he HAS to have you arrested or he pays his own dentist.

Ya throw coffee at someone and your expecting NOT to get punched??? Lol. really? Ya start [censored] with someone like Dave did and your expecting NOT to get punched??? Lol. really? Those dudes get carried away with the crap talk. Saw Doc last week say something along the lines of Boosted being a punk. The stuff's uncalled for, and IMO they should stop letting the producers wind them up to act that way if it's not their real character. And if it is their true character? Well, you play silly games you win silly prizes.

Is it a move or a spin off. Spin off. I talked to a guy that was there for the Detroit shows. He said the current list is quite a bit different than what we are seeing on TV right now. I can't wait for the new season and the new show. Dennis

if the Louisiana , New Orleans show is as shown on the commercial , I don't think it will last long. There'll be no talking , all you will here is beep beep beep. Smack talking is one thing ,but a bunch of unintelligent loud mouths yelling over each other is not my interest. Just shut up!!!!. If I want to watch a bunch of @#$%^&*()_ yelling I'll tune in to CNN The show is about cars and racing, get back to it.

I'm willing to bet it's encouraged by the producers. Although there is a YouTube video of Chuck giving a handicapped guy in a Cutlass a hard time. Chuck will either get his or arrested IMHO. Doesn't matter how tough you are there is always someone tougher.

Chucks lack of self control shows his true character. Love the show but if it turns into the grunge racing, studio wrestling crap I'm done with it. To much work in the shop to deal with that.

I posted in the other thread........during the "drivers meeting" the producer himself stepped in and told the guys to "ratchet it up a little" and he stepped out and they continued the shot. Not many like Clark anyway, so he was the one they chose to "get on". He couldn't take the fact that they were getting on HIM and he got out of control and threw the coffee. I was there and thought he got what he deserved.
Truth is, most of these guys are friends and all get along just fine. Even the out of town guys for the most part, because they all know each other. So much of the "drama" is at the encouragement of the producer and after the "shot" is over, they go back to laughing and cutting up. That was the case here, they were all joking around and the producer wanted MORE and boy did he get it. Clark was out of line.
The "list" is way different, because obviously they race every week and you are seeing on TV what happened months ago.
The Louisiana show is a spin off and several episodes have been shot. Some guys from here went down for a taping and raced.
Chuck may have collected Clarks teeth, but he was not the only one who got a piece of him in the altercation
Shane recently went from an F2 Pro-Charger to an F3, so the car is faster and gets down the road pretty well, but he won't have enough for the top 4 or 5 cars, when they make a clean shot

Monte I respect your opinion and you were there but from this side of the TV screen it looks like Dave was running his mouth from the very beginning of the show and "Clark" had had enough smack talk directed directly at him. Coming from a guy that can loose his temper at the wrong moment I think Dave and maybe the producers egged that fight on. I still see no reason Chuck should have stepped in on a fight he had no dog in.

Clark is from Oklahoma and has a LOT to say, a LOT of the time, that you DON'T see on TV.............that's all I'm saying. What you see on camera is not ALL that happens or is said. No way the producer wanted an actual fight.......just amped up a bit. He got more than he bargained for. James(Reaper) is the one that can really get hot and go off, and that NOBODY wants to mess with. Has taken him a good bit to realize that much of it is put on for the camera, when guys are ragging him. Seen him so mad his eyes are rolled back in his head and ready to blow......LOL!!! Then 5 minutes later, the guy who pushed his buttons is telling him, "man that was good, you did good".......this of course AFTER, Jerry, Doc or Dave has managed to calm James down........lol!!!

Chucks lack of self control shows his true character. Love the show but if it turns into the grunge racing, studio wrestling crap I'm done with it. To much work in the shop to deal with that. That's what I said after his spitting episode. He showed his character or the lack of, depending on how you look at it.

Yeah, he looks like he would clean ANY of their clocks, in last weeks show when Chief and Shaun went to his shop they even leaving commented not wanting to run into him in a dark alley. His car is obviously bad fast, but maybe not quite adjusted or set up for the street...yet.

Chuck, like Farmtruck and Azn has to do something "unique" in order to stay on the show since they are not competitive anymore. Is Chuck even on the list?
First the spitting episode and now sucker punching a guy and doing some real damage. Chuck is making himself a target in more ways that one.
When's the last time you saw someone get their teeth knocked out on national television?

WOW of all the races Dave couldn't pick a worse time to fall asleep on the light He wasn't sleeping. The trans was hurt in the Vette after the second round and it was completely toast in final. Coulda, shoulda, woulda but Kye had nothing for the Vette, had it made a clean pass. It was fastest car by far all night. We were going to pull the trans from the Reaper car for him in the final, but he thought it would make it...........didn't. Car didn't move when he let go of it. They ALL dodged a bullet when the El Camino had a bad draw first round. That car is BAD fast and it was their first time on the street. They misjudged the road and had it WAY soft. If they would have had a "duck" first round and got another crack at road, it could have been the car to beat. He had a couple top notch tuners there and they just didn't think the road was THAT good. The road also cost Reaper and Doc. They were both WAY too soft and the cars dead hooked and shook the tires at the hit. Can't give out much info, except to say that Doc has made some suspension changes since that night and the big Monte is flat out flying right now. Had to get several of them to go away from their "street" setups, to more of a race oriented deal, because those roads get pretty damn good, after a lot of "pimp juice" burnouts and the rubber starts sticking. A bunch of them were just crushing the tires and shaking. Even on a road.......wheel speed is your friend with a big tire and a lot of power. The weekend after Cash Days, Doc made some changes at the track while doing an appearance and the car rang up some high 1.0 sixty foots and that is the setup he is running on street now

I like the show, and yeah you can tell when the producers step in to "create" or "amp up" the drama...the only thing I don't really like (which is typical of all these reality shows) is the way they "groundhog day" and spend 5 minutes recapping what happened in the last 10 minutes before the commercial break...I think everyone watching the show would get tired of that. Essentially they take 40 minutes of content and stretch it to an hour. But then again they make a 5 second 1/8th mile race last 45 seconds on film. lol.
It'd be cool if (just once) they showed a race 'Real Time'....just to give the people who don't know some perspective of just how FAST these racers are moving...then they can also get a sense of how quickly things go on inside the car and in the driver's minds.

I dont watch the show(I have a few times) but I'm not into all the drama BS... seems like a lot of the people that commented are into the drama.. all they basically have talked about is someone punching someone else... not much about the racing... no thanks

Why wasn't Monza racing Monte.?? Chris.. He had broken a rod in his conventional headed 632. He bought a spread port 632 with two carbs to go in car. Needed new headers, some plumbing, etc. Had it in and running in time, but had no testing and decided to save his $1000 entry fee, in lieu of flying blind.

Thay all thought Jerry was disrespected, all the "fast" cars weren't invited etc. Unreal what people dream up in their pointy heads.

I watch the show......... But I watch "less" of it lately. I don't mean fewer episodes, just less of each episode. It is becoming what all "reality" tv shows become. It's no longer about whatever the premise was that originally got viewers to tune in and watch, and has become a platform for "personalities" and conflict/drama. I watch the cars run, but the skip through the rest of the BS.

Speaking of the cars... What's with the Astre with the vega nose? (anybody catch that?) Yeah, I caught it. I had to ask my brother what Pontiac Called it because its been so long since I seen one. The front end is a vega piece. IIRC Pontiac's was different with the trademark vertical split in the grille. The Pontiac taillights gave it away the first time there was a close-up of the rear. Beep

Vega nose is probably a whole lot easier to find than an Astre.

Vega nose is probably a whole lot easier to find than an Astre. Yeah he has a '76-'77 Vega one piece front on it, but still has the Astre taillights. I think that year front is probably closest to looking like the stock Astre front, plus he has holes cut in it with the characteristic V in center. He probably calls it "The Vega" because 90% of the people that see it have probably never heard of the Astre model...just avoids confusion.

So they're having reveals now, like American Chopper? Seems dumb to me but if I was cashing the checks, it'd make perfect sense.

For any attending the PRI show........Goliath II will be on display in the QA-1 booth and Chief's new ride will be there, but not sure where........plus most of the guys will be there in attendance as well. It's a camaro... it was posted somewhere he picked it up for like 100k or whatever. It was mentioned before they don't get paid much for the show... I still find that hard to believe! Cheif's car is a Firebird.. and goliath 2 is a remake of goliath.... It's a Pro Mod chassis with a carbon fiber shell that loosly resembles a Firebird. It could be a Camaro, a Corvette, or a Pinto tomorrow if you hung a different shell on it. Not hating the car - it's BAD-ASS, and I'm sure it will be impressive to watch run. But in reality, the "Crowmod" on the side describes it a lot closer than calling it a "Firebird".

Also just realized that Dominator was a no show too.. What's up with that.?? Chris..

Dominator has a new engine build he is working on and had not had time to test and tune it yet. He wanted to make sure that he didn't lose more then $1000 dollar entry fee.

I would never do what they are doing but that show has really grown on me. The cash days deal was exciting to watch. I was thinking about NOS at some point, I'm over that now. I think you should consider building a car to compete with the S.O. cars. You'd be the only Predator guy out there. Just a thought..................................

Chief, Dave, Kye Kelley, Andrade and the Dung Beetle, were the SO cars I saw at PRI. When any one of those guys were IN the booth, where their cars were displayed, you couldn't get near it. So while some may feel the "reveals" are a little over the top, you couldn't tell that by the crowds clamoring to see the cars and the stars at PRI.
Reaper, Doc, Monza, Jackie(Sonoma), Farmtruck, Murder Nova and probably some I didn't see were in attendance.
Doc, Jerry(Monza) and myself were trying to go from the convention center to the Mall for lunch on Thursday. Probably took us 45 minutes to walk over there, because of people wanting pics and autographs and the guys NEVER seem to turn anybody down. Much the same on Friday, when I made the same walk with Reaper.
I plumbed Doc's new EFI intake and had it on display in our booth. He and Jerry came by pretty early Thursday to look at it. In about 5 minutes, there were 50 people standing there behind them..........And the majority of the people at this show are in the industry or racers.......so what does that say about their popularity. Isn't just your average couch potatoes who like them and the show

And wait til it takes 5-6 Nationals to get a 16 car field in Pro Stock because of the idiotic rules NHRA implemented. Let me say again I have no issue with EFI. I have an issue with making ONE company THE supplier. And making every one switch to EFI. Let the carbs and EFI run together. Let them have a scoop or not. But the lunatics who run the asylum are NOT racers. They are a buch of overpaid wonks. Rant off.

Nothing wrong with ONE company supplying the EFI. That's the way it is in nearly every other form of motorsports as well. The EFI simply does what you tell it to do. Provided both work correctly, one will make no more power than another. That said, one "spec" box makes it much easier for tech and will keep guys from having something they are not supposed to. They all have the same injector, same ECU, same Throttle Body, same coils.......other than that, they can do whatever they want to do. Holley was likely chosen because there is already a relationship with NHRA on the COPO stockers, which COME with Holley from the factory. People say, "boy, I bet that cost you guys a lot"...........actually NO, it cost us NOTHING to be chosen by NHRA to supply the ECUs. The boxes, throttle bodies and injectors are serialized and you can only buy these if you are a Pro-Stock team and we know who has what and how many.
Previously, they were all limited to the same ignition box, same coil and they ran carbs..............so what exactly is radically different now and "tying their hands" from a parts selection aspect.

I've heard all this [censored] before. Because they had to run the same ignition (which wasn't a good thing for competition was it....but it was great for MSD) that makes it ok to do it again? I wanted different carbs for YEARS but I was told by several guys it would never happen because Holley was on the fix. Barry Grant came along and got his junk accepted but that's a whole 'nother story. You can tell me all the propaganda you want, but you didn't answer the questions about the hood scoops, or letting carbs compete with EFI. I'm sure you'll sing the party line because you are invested in it. The whole deal is bad from start to finish. Hell, I fogot about the stupid RPM limit, the piston weight limit, valve wieght limit....shall I go on? All in the VERY SAME NAME AS NOW. To save a dying class. NONE of those worked. Not one of those reduced costs. And yet, we are all told this is going to save Pro Stock. Sorry, I ain't buying none of it.

I don't really give a flying crap what you "buy". I have NOTHING invested in it. I have zero part of the Pro-Stock program, nor do I want one.
I see lots of bitching, but I don't see any solutions coming from you. If you have a magic wand, why don't you wave it over the class and fix it................otherwise, these are the changes they are trying.............you don't like them, don't watch.........THAT simple.
As to why not have both carbs and EFI...........be hard to fit the carbs under the cowl hood. As to why the cowl hood........they feel that will give the cars more fan appeal. Now will it, I don't know, beats the hell out of me, but something has to be changed.............so why not start here

Now will it, I don't know, beats the hell out of me, but something has to be changed.............so why not start here I have posted many times how to "fix" it. Bet you ass I won't be watching. And that's the problem. Like I said, none of the other "fixes" worked either. But change is a fix in itself. Remeber in the early 2000's and NHRA was courting the [censored] fart can crowd? They brought in guys like Gene whoever in the Dodge because he was going to be the start of "fixing" PS and drawing a younger crowd. Just another EPIC NHRA fail. Start by putting the scoops back on. If you don't want one, don't run it. Then EFI or carb. Any EFI, and carb. Oh wait, too much competiton out there. Any igntion too. Can't have that...MSD will [censored] and pull it's contingency (from what I hear they are about broke again anyway). Make the bodies showroom dimensions, not an asscar...ooopppsss I mean NHRA template. Make them take the wheelie bars OFF and let them have any axle weights they want. I could go on, but why? NHRA has been hiring the same piles of steaming crap for decades. There are answers out there, it's just NHRA don't like them. So, to help you out, I don't give a fly crap what you think either.

For a minute I thought I was on another web site. I like watching Pro stock. But when you need some one to tell you what's on the other side of the car, the scoops may be a little to big. Just my opinion , FLAME ON.

Just my opinion , FLAME ON. So did what NHRA do fix the class? Nope, which is my point EXACTLY. I would rather see a carb'd scoop'd car run against a EFI non scoop'd car. And how about a scoop'd EFI car run agaist a car w/o the scoop? in some peoples world (READ:NHRA) that would be too much compettion, too much to tech. Count me out of Pro Stock. The class will be dead in 3 years.

I am looking forward to watching them with the new rules. I don't like the giant hood scoops and wondering how they will leave the line with the wheelie bar change.

For a minute I thought I was on another web site. I like watching Pro stock. But when you need some one to tell you what's on the other side of the car, the scoops may be a little to big. Just my opinion , FLAME ON. They already have that class.... it's called PRO MOD. But i bet you have a problem with that too. I guess I missed the part where I mentioned adding blowers, nitrous, wings and over 500 CID . Oh yeah, and the boring hair dryer. PRO MOD is not for me.

That company doesn't even think enough of racing and high performance, to even have a display booth at the biggest racing trade show of the year.
My thoughts exactly, seriously concerned with the direction this brand is going.

It's been decades since Chrysler gave a rip about gear heads. Back in the summer while chasing parts for my 434 I was on the phone with one of the better known builder/head guys on this site. We were discussing block and parts availability for Mopars. Both of us are in our early, mid 50s and agreed that if we were young men starting out we wouldn't be running Mopars. At this point we have to much invested to change.

Sad but mopar seem to be going down ...I have thought long and hard about a big block Chevy. ..1050hp for 17500.00 Chevy and 22500.00 for mopar 900hp ..5000.00 could be used for a really nice glade and veta...just saying. . WOW!!!!!!!! I'm glad I'm not you and have to pay that much for 900 HP. I'm not big on throwing numbers out there as I never Dyno my engines but I should be in that neighbourhood for a lot less than that. 6000 dollars Keith Black block (didn't cost that much) 2000 " " Callas crank 1000 " " K1 rods and pistons 3500 " " B1 heads, intake, spacers 1100 " " T&D rockers 1000 " " custom cam, pushrods, lifters 500 " " rings, bearings, gaskets 1000 " " custom oil pan, pump, misc. _________________ 16.200 dollars I may have left out a few things but I also didn't pay that much for several of these items. I do my own work (as you could do too) and I'm always on the look-out for deals. Mopars are only expensive if YOU let them be. Sure Chevy racers have more choices but if you don't like it, join them. I love beating Fords and Chevies. Even more so with my Edelbrock headed small block.

There is no need to rehash what costs what, because we KNOW and what we KNOW is that Mopar parts cost more and are harder to find. So it is no secret that a store bought Mopar that makes the same power as a Chevy will cost more. Nothing to debate Absolutely, keep it apples to apples.

Funny that some want factory dimension bodies in Pro-Stock, when the Challenger is bigger and far less aero than either the Camaro or Mustang.............plus, we KNOW which company WON'T be spending a bunch of money developing bodies, just to make them better for racing. That company doesn't even think enough of racing and high performance, to even have a display booth at the biggest racing trade show of the year.
Do you really think I didn't know this. Same crap went on in PST. Why Nickens and Patterson put up with that crap for so long (except they HONOR their contracts) I will never understand. I don't give one single solitary CRAP if Chrysler has a PS car. Not one. That also doesn't mean I won't watch it because there is no chrysler junk in it. I watched all through the late 70's and the 80's where there was ZERO chrysler junk there. But it was half assed worth watching. So in the end, I still want factory bodies in Pro Stock. I'm tired of NHRA parroting ASScar in everything they do. Asscar is going down so fast it's hard to measure. Why copy that. For the same reason Pro Stock has been neutered. There in not ONE, SINGLE innovator on the NHRA staff. NONE. ZERO. Please don't tell me to go to work for NHRA. I'm not that scungy. Rant off because this thread is about Street Outlaws.

I friend of mine has a Shaffroff 440 small block chevy in a 2800 lb Mustang and it runs 6.30's on motor, alcohol injected. I am faster than him and heavier. But his has a NOS cam in it. I am sure that is the reason. He usually sprays 500 shot on it and then he is a lot faster.

Good Chevy buddy of mine bought a nice engine from Ohio Crankshaft and the engine destroyed itself between the water box and the starting line after about 50 passes (or less). The piston was GONE, destroyed. And it was a well known piston manufacture. They took the engine apart and gave him an 8 page report on what happened. Failure to properly clean block and engine parts while assembling engine. No thanks, I'll do my own.

My friend had to rebuild his 2 times this season and at least once last year. I think he is spraying too much on it or bad tune. He is a grudge racer. He want tell me what it runs but he tell me one night it ran 137 in the 1/8.

At 1 point I was completely brand loyal then I started to think look price and thought I'm brand loyal but the brand ain't loyal. ..no parts 2 3 times more just no help at all ...my ram is a 2002 4 door got it in 02 dash cracked and busted no longer after I got it ..call mopar is there a recall...oh no we didn't put the uv protection in it no recall but there is a discount I think like a 100 but the dash was 4 or 5 hundred..so I gotta pay for your message up..Trans started acting crazy not long after...I'm a small business owner not home alot and don't have a lot of time to mess with stuff much just would like to enjoy it a little. . As far as that goes, EVERY manufacture screws the customer NOT just Mopar. And I don`t care if Chubbys and ferds are cheaper and make more power than Mopars cos that`s only part of the reason I run em.......

I enjoy out running friends driving chevys with bigger motors in lighter cars. The only ones faster are big blocks and small blocks with NOS.

A lot of mopars on gas as well ..come on now don't act like it's not ...but people will debate mopar ford Chevy til the end of time.. Maybe you are correct, but I am ALWAYS the ONLY mopar there and mine is a pump gas small block on motor only. The only ones faster are nos or big blocks or tube chassis cars. My neighbor has a yates headed small block ford in a Mustang that weighs 2800 and runs 6.60's on motor.

I enjoy out running friends driving chevys with bigger motors in lighter cars. The only ones faster are big blocks and small blocks with NOS. This happens with EVERY brand. Be it a Mopar, Ford or Chevy, there are loads of cars out there which run to nowhere near their potential, just like there are some of every brand that are over achievers. So I am assuming your comparison is just based on your immediate friends..........because I know there is no way you are claiming you have the quickest vehicle at your weight, with the same cube N/A smallblock of any kind, any where

Most people get or got into Mopars, because they were different, were not belly button cars like everyone else had, or were brought into it by someone else. That someone else for me, was my dad. In the 50s and 60s, he made a regular habit of taking brands that nobody else around here seemed to care much about and make it outrun all his friends..............His first serious effort "hot rod" was a 65 GTO tri-power car, that was a terror on the streets and track around here and old timers still talk to me about the car. Later on, he got on the Mopar kick and ordered a brand new, 70 model 6 pack Challenger, that later became an NHRA SS/GA national record holder. He remained Mopar from that 70 purchase until this day and I followed suit.........BUT, it was different then. Yes the cars were different from most others on the road, but they also performed well and could be made to run as well or better than the other makes. Once the aftermarket got involved heavily, all that changed and it is a well known fact that we as Mopar guys lament every day. The days of affordable and equal HP for dollars spent for the Mopar guys is a non existent thing and we all KNOW it. The thing that keeps most loyal to the brand, is simply the love of the brand and the fond memories of yesteryear. These days, a person new to hot rodding, will again be looking to Mopar in the quest to be different, but the difference now, is it is nearly impossible for him to out run his buddies off brand, given equal money spent and knowledge applied. The parts simply are not there and again, we KNOW it

I went Gen III Hemi so I can eat all the LS cars around here and still be "Mopar". So far I have done just that, until half of them add boost. Mopar has dropped the ball on these engines too by not producing anything aftermarket worth a damn too.

Thumper they all do ..but at least they go easier on them on price ...they also make parts and let other companies make parts to sell to keep prices in line ..not just let the molds set or destroy them so nobody can make parts...but hey that's racing right. It`s all good man and the debates will go on forever.......kinda like this post.......

HP is HP .. ever think they just cant tune a engine or a chassis... your acting as you have the quickest ride there every week Mr P , I am just stating facts. I guess all my chevy friends around here just don't know what they are doing. And its been that way since the 80's. They all say why are you faster with less motor.
1.33 60 ft,6.21 at 110.59 in the 1/8, pump gas small block,2950lbs,drag radials,mufflers and driven to track ...

I would like to know how this thread got changed over to Mopar VS the world on the Street Outlaw thread . The show only has 1 mopar morphidite that appears once in awhile and is a heck of a lot faster, OH, it's Chevy powered than most or should I say all mopars that are posting here.
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

If your throwing 1000hp worth of gas at a Cheavy, the chances of them running good are pretty good.

Murder nova is number one. The Crow was number two when it crashed. Just saying darn spoilers, Canadian television is way behind on "new episodes" the import one was just on TV. I just downloaded cash days for the fun of it. Still not bad for an edelbrock headed pontiac

Murder nova is number one. The Crow was number two when it crashed. Just saying Murder nova finished the tv season #1. They have since filmed more episodes. We do not know who #1 is/was at the time of the crash, since that hasn't been televised yet.

There have been lots of "list" races and there is currently a new No.1 and No.2. Chief dropped off, everybody moved up one and then some guys changed places racing.
New cars coming........Chief. And regardless of what was posted on the McAmis facebook page, Murder Nova does NOT have a new McAmis car. He WILL have a new steel bodied Nova, but it is being built by Don Dial and is nearly done. Boosted has a new big tire car and Chuck has put big tires on the Mustang. Monza is putting the Split Bumper on a diet with a serious upgrade and Doc is planning the same. Reaper is actually putting a SMALLER motor in his car, as the one that is in there is a bad combination. He is also converting to EFI as many of the others have and the car should be HERE in a few days for me to get started on that. He is also building a "new" lighter car and plans to run both. Dave's Nova is obviously ready and the motor that was in Henson's Vette, is going in another car that will get a crack at the list. The guy with the blown 55, that was in cash days, has purchased a Top Sportsman 55 Chevy from one of my customers and will be taking his shot............Lots of new and diff cars coming Glad to hear there will be a tri-five Chevy in the mix! Since Chief has set the bar for a super lightweight ride, I wonder why Murder Nova is going with a steel body?

I would bet eventually it will be an aluminum butler block with the tiger heads. But for now, the huge weight reduction will get him back up there near the top.

Somewhere I read he was currently in the neighborhood of 50 lbs of boost...

You should always believe what a street racer tells you about their car. Everyone knows they have nothing to hide.
Chasing bears through the woods drunk with a dull hatchet is strongly not advised

Pontiacs are even MORE limited than Mopars, as far as cubic inches, because of bore space.
Chief's motor was done by Butler as stated, has a cast block and Edelbrock heads worked over by Butler. The motor is more or less a twin to the motor in Butler's own Pro-Mod Tempest, which is the quickest true Pontiac powered car in the country.
Chief is supposedly building a better motor with some billet parts, but not to make it bigger, but to make it stronger, so the wick can be turned up...........ie more boost. Stuff on cast motors tend to move around when you hit them with loads of boost. At cash days, they were worried about burning the crank out of the motor because of oiling problems, associated with the block either being cracked, or moving around under boost. He can make more boost with the turbos he has, if the motor could take it
