I am interested in hearing how you plan to run 14.2-1 CR on 94 pump swill with meth.

It doesn't come down to just the compression ratio, it's the complete engine design. I've seen aluminum headed engines that detonate on 94 with 11:1 compression. On the other hand, the Aspen in my signature is 13.3:1 with a cast iron head on it, and it runs 94 all day long with a meth kit for good measure.

Hey Kenny, just wondering how this build ever turned out? I am guessing that the aluminum rods play a big part in letting stroke this big live in a stock block?

Just curious....Have you clearanced the bore notches completely in the block? Seems like you'd need a bigger 'scallop' taken out to clear a low deck with that much stroke and a fat shouldered Aluminum 6.535" Rod. Just curious if that's really all it took or you still have more to go. Is that a 2.200" journal or is it a 2.100 (350 sbc) rid journal?

cool build. but I'm interested to know how your aluminum Ritter block runs. I know you had it on the dyno and had some leaks but not sure if I ever seen any follow up post.any information would be a great help to those that have purchased one of those blocks

Hey guys, sorry for the WAY LATE update. I decided to start my own business and have been spread pretty thin and have not been on moparts in a long time. I figured I should look up this thread since Dad is getting close to having this thing on the dyno. It has been a long time coming, and it has been collecting dust while he has been in his busy season with customer's projects.

Hey WHITEDART, I will give an update on the aluminum Ritter block build soon as well. It has been a headache to say the least, but a challenge we still welcome. It is running, and the oil drain back issues have been addressed which as far as I know was the last to deal with.

Streetwize, the clearancing needed, as well as the rod journal (2.200") is shown on the previous page of posts.

A quick update! Been moving slower than planned, customer enginers are "getting in the way" hahaha! Here is some pictures of it ALMOST complete! With the retainers we are using, and the spring we needed, The T&D's would not clear. We had to go with the Harland Sharps, which required a different push rod. BUMMER. So once those are here, we will be putting the engine on the engine dyno for a break in and then into the car to tune on the chassis dyno.

Nothing to see here! Just an unassuming 383 with a fancy intake! Looks good

I will just leave these here...

Doing a little testing now, Haven't made a full pull yet, but it looks promising. For a little comparison, it has made 120bhp more than the 468ci W2 in my car on the pull we went to 6500rpm haha! We would like to make our own rocker spacers to get the rockers in a little more favourable location, but after that, I think we will be ready to really lean on it!

Here is a couple pulls to 7000rpm. It was making 115 points @ 7000rpm. Sooooo, 115 x 7 = 805bhp uncorrected. We race at about 4000-5000ft typically. I look forward to getting it in the car and on the chassis dyno to do some tuning on it!!

Thanks for watching!
