I agree,that's what everyone likes about the show. The cars still resemble street cars.

so I guess I missed a show, last one on Monday night was nova winning against chief, boosted losing to Doc, was there a show after that? I watch it on discovery so are you guys talking about next Monday nights show? love the show about the only tv I watch. apparently chief will crash, good inside info , and a great show.

In podcast #8, Chief said his new car will be shown in the season finale, the Cash Days episode. I can't wait to see those races.

As soon as the cars start to resemble actual race cars such as pro-mods I think the show will loose its appeal to the real people. Similar to Fast and Loud grease monkey show, the show as wacky as it is is going to high dollar GT -40 , jaguar, and other off brand junk instead of the regular junk we can relate to. I can see it's all about money, but most of us wouldn't even dream about spending or loosing that much money .

It depends on WHAT the cars look like. Dave's Nova that he crashed, was for all intents and purposes, a Pro-Mod, just had a Chevy II body hung on it. Was light. Kye Kelleys car is a tin can. Super light, ex Pro-Mod with a carbon body, but it still looks the same as any other 3rd gen Camaro. So if light weight cars with the same power, are what guys are bringing to beat you with, you must follow suit to stay on top. Now if they all go to the extended fronts, pinched noses and un recognizable bodies, I agree, the show MIGHT suffer, but to say it will suffer if they go to Pro-Mod cars is not true. And there will be NO under 2000lb cars. You simply can NOT build these cars that light. Don't care how much carbon fiber and titanium you use.

Not sure what kind of footage they will splice in on Chief's deal. But cash days was over a few weeks before he crashed the GTO and the cash days race was to be the season finale. He crashed while filming an episode with the Detroit guys in town

Have you SEEN the Farmtruck up close. It has a very trick aftermarket front tubular suspension. Nascar style "truck arm" rear suspension and a 632, high compression, nitrous motor. It is no more an everyday street ride than any of the others. It has just as much "race" stuff as the others, just a truck body covering it all up. [/quote]

Kinda ironic it still has the "NASCAR style "truck arm" rear suspension", since the NASCAR suspension is simply an upgraded version of the "truck arm" suspension that came STOCK in the Farm Truck.

Probably doesn't seem so high tech when you look at it like that. Those suspensions worked pretty well by simply changing to stiffer bushings, an air bag in the right rear coil, and good shocks. If it ain't broke . . .
