Who sells the best kit for rebuilding the six pack carbs? I heard something about blue or red gaskets?

I had to buy several from the local parts houses to get everything I needed but on the up side when I built the 850 for my RT I had everything I needed in stock. Blue gaskets are reusable which is handy when changing jets and such. not sure about red gaskets, not even sure I have seen them, might be something to do with alcohol carbs, I know they are different.

Is there a kit for all 3 carbs now?? Back in 73, I had to buy 3 separate kits.. Lotta money for a high school kid making $1.50 an hour at the service station after school......

For what its worth, I have never had a Minivan.. Always liked the AD on TV, guy at the gym and over the speakers " Tan minivan with the lights on".. He was too embarrassed to let everyone know it was his....LOL

Now I have one of those awful 67 cars that nobody wants..

If your just doing yours this is a decent outlet worth the money imo and Ive used a couple of these from the seller.

Unless you do alot of carbs or have them apart alot the above way is much smarter (cheaper) then buying a bunch in bulk but if you do you will have carb parts forever.

Yep that would be cheaper than the way I did it but I like extra parts.

Minivan, 67 RT is one of my favorites but I gotta have a lid on mine.

What about stuff Mancini sells? Need a kit to get my Aar up and running good.
I've read that you want to use only Holley stuff because the other stuff may shrink, have incorrect holes etc...

And who related to holley or sells holley parts says this?

Ive had six packs since the late 70-s and have never seen a failure from a shrunken gasket and if the holes are correct on assembly no mystry holes will appear.

Until they come out with a "This is the last gasket for your carb you will ever need" they will require to be replaced maybe every 10 years or so and Im not sure about the "Red" gaskets but the holley blue gaskets sooner or later will start to delaminate? in the areas that are exposed to fuel.

There are the black with yellow lined gaskets that work well but imo nothing has stood up better over 20-30 years then oem style cork if your talking a one time use.

The only problem with the cork is that if left sit without fuel for a "long" period of time, like years, the main metering block gasket will shrink.I have received carbs for restoration that had sat for years with the metering block gasket shrunk to half it's size around the power valve,if you doubt me,ask Scott. twocents

The needle and seat in the cheap ( non holley )kits were always funky.

When I took my carbs apart the cork gaskets were shrunk, they had been sitting going on 20 years at least. Holley kits are available at most chain parts houses and between 2 of them I found everything in stock in a town 4700 people. Quick availability has a value to me most days so I didn't mind buying extra kits to get everything I needed. twocents

Of course if they sit for a long long time things will shrink and such I was more or less thinking if things were run each year a bit. Not sitting empty or such for 10-20 years.

More so ive found the corkers need to sit and soak for a bit to even get them apart.

Ive gotten a cheap needle and seat in the past and it netted me 4 gallons of fuel in my cankcase (parked on a hill).

I use .110s in most things and often wondered if the name brands holley, aed, quick fuel, ect got all the viton parts from one maker?
