I think Strange needs to come up with a bolt in S60 and driveshaft package. If you haven't been under a new Challenger the drivetrain looks like it belongs in a Volkswagon.

I think Strange needs to come up with a bolt in S60 and driveshaft package. If you haven't been under a new Challenger the drivetrain looks like it belongs in a Volkswagon. The same differential has been used under the heavier and more powerful S65/CL65/SL65 cars for many years. Granted, they have auto transmissions but if 735 lb/ft in a 4800+ lb car won't break them they stand a good chance in a HC. Some of those guys have built the cars to crank out more than 900 lb/ft and launch on slicks without lunching the diff. The driveshaft and axles are not going to last under that abuse but that's kinda expected, don't you think?

So, the question that popped into my mind after reading your link is "how will not having the original engine affect future value"?

Many cars back in the hay days had warranty engines. I don't see where these cars will ever have the appeal of the original Hemi cars. I bought it to enjoy. No kids to leave it to. Just glad to get some miles on it before the snow flies.

Service manager at my dealer told me when he notified FCA of my issue, they said it was the 4th one they had reported. When I picked up my car after repair, I talked to their SRT tech because I wanted to see the old engine. He advised against pinning the pulley til after warranty runs out. He said let them pay to replace it if it fails again.

Point was a Hellcat will be/is a collector and you took a potential loss due to this is all.

I thought they were supposed to have a diamond encrusted crank washer ? something must be off big time... it sounds like this guy was just driving along, not even beating on it.
