Do these axles have a C clip or anything on the inside splined ends that needs to be undone first? thank you for your time

i don't believe so. and just to confirm, i looked in my 69 FSM, and nothing was mentioned about removing the rear cover to remove the axles to change bearings. i also looked at the exploded view and couldn't see any inside axle retainer clips. as the view was small, i even used my "cheaters", but couldn't see any. hope this helps.

It should have bearing retainers on each end of the housing. It`s not like the 8 1/4 c clip IIRC.

Helps tremendously. I just put the cover on & filled er up & did not want to have to go back in there. thanks guys!
