When my father was in High School he had a Petty Blue 68 roadrunner he told me about all the time. Both my father and I had always been into classic cars. My whole family has honestly. When I was 5 years old he purchased a 1965 Tri Power 389 Pontiac GTO for around $11k and it has been in our family ever since. I joined the military in 2006 at the age of 20 and got a small enlistment bonus upon entering. I was lucky enough to find a 1968 Roadrunner 383 car that was in decent shape metal wise sitting in a guys front yard on an old country road. He had gotten it in trade for another car and cared less for it and wanted it gone. So I took my reenlistment bonus and purchased the car not really knowing much about mopars at all. Once I got it to my parents house my father was thrilled I had bout my first classic car but was even more thrilled that it was the same car (not THE car but the same year/make) he had in high school. Shortly after I met Jimmy of Street Custom's and Restoration in Moorsville, NC who was interested in restoring the car for me. I told him I didnt have a ton of money... Im in the military.. and about to go on deployment for 7 months. He told me not to worry and he would take care of it. Him and his wife have done a wonderfull job with the car and been nothing but supportive with me. The restoration is still ongoing as of today and will be going to the body shop this month so more pictures to come. You can see the current project at Jimmy's website http://www.streetcustomandpaint.com/Current%20Projects.htm

Finish product will be an all origional 68 Hemi roadrunner with correct date coded 68 Hemi motor and tranny. Black on black with magnum 500 rims and coker red lines. Will be an outstanding car and cannot wait to see it finished.

Keep those 68 Hemis coming! I have an AA1 silver 68 that I transplanted a 528 Hemi inot; it's a lot of fun. I did bag the original numbers matching 383 to sell with the car down the road. You can check out my website for some various pix.
