Does it have to be DOM? I have read the rule book and didn't see where it says it has to be DOM. Am I wrong on that? Jim

No it doesn't have to be DOM. Any kit you buy from Chris Alston or Competition Engineering isn't going to be DOM.

If you going to spend the extra money for DOM you might as well use 'Moly instead.

S and W race car fab in penn. The fit was good I also opt for the rear seat option if interested tell them .I got all C/M nice fit only had to bend the rear bars from 40deg to 45deg because I wanted to move then to a diff location because of my battery box.

i would think schedual 40 shouldn't be considered, as it is just water pipe ?

Absolutely not! Water pipe should never be used! At my steel supplier DOM is $4.50 per foot and Chrome moly is $4.90 per foot. I think that ERW .134 wall is $2.90 per foot. That is 1 5/8 OD.

You have to look around, I bought DOM for hardly any more money then ERW. It was another 70% more to get moly...

But if you're looking for tight finish, you need to bend them yourself. That way it will end up exactly how you want it.

Here's some pics of mine, nice and tight...

Check out this old post, it's got more pics...

Thanks for the link to your pictures. That is how I want mine to be when finished. I won't take the front bars thru the dash though. Jim

The reason I put the bars through the dash is for leg room. It makes it A LOT easier to get in/out of the car with that front bar moved forward like that...
