I'm by far from an expert, probably the exact opposite, but a 392 stroker with a 220ish @ .050 cam, ported heads, and long tube headers would eclipse 450 HP pretty handily and have a mountain of torque everywhere. You could get your heads ported, they have the smallest ports of any of the HEMI's, which would help with velocity and low end torque. With abit of work they flow 300 cfm easily. You could upgrade to Eagle heads (which flow 300 cfm + stock) but you'd need adapters for your intake (Eagle ports are bigger, similar to 6.1 heads) or use the Eagle intake. There's always getting a 6.4 from a truck, but you'd have to deal with the VVT/MDS issue, crank triggers are different, and I imagine none of the sensors are compatible, a lot of unknown territory to cover, and exploring gets expensive fast. Moparts member hemidup (I think that's his handle) is a fan of using the 03-08 5.7 heads for trucks due to the higher velocity ports. Heck, if it's bolted together properly you'd be well above 450 HP. There's a couple of builders on LXForums that have been known to be sketchy, do your research, hopefully some of the more knowledgeable Gen III guys see your post and comment

A 6.1 long block should pretty much bolt in. Probably the only option that might come with a warranty and you will want to get the computer tuned for it. Also need to open the intake manifold ports a little to match the heads.
If custom building use the eagle head to get quench, the quench will outweigh any loss of velocity.
392 CID can make gobs of TQ.

100,000 miles and you are wanting to rebuild? 250K here and mine still runs great. I just passed smog check 2 days ago. Power could be better though. I was thinking along this same route but I'm waiting for the engine to wear out first.

What are the sellers handles on EBay that sell these out of date warranty engines?

was it in a chrysler factory crate? the ones i speak of would be like a 2005 crate motor that is sold because its 10 yr warranty was up in 2015 so there is no use in it being on the shelf as a warranty replacement block... No this was actually from a guy who buys left over stock from fleets that no longer have a use for any certain type of engine....great deals if you look hard enough you can find them Rickster
