I've never heard of this before, but am looking at a car that clearly has the 5th digit missing...the other 12 digits seem correct. Have not seen the FT yet. CHIP '70 hemicuda, 575" Hemi, 727, Dana 60 '69 road runner, 440-6, 18 spline 4 speed, Dana 60 '71 Demon, 340, low gear 904, 8.75 '73 Chrysler New Yorker, 440, 727, 8.75 '90 Chevy 454SS Silverado, 476" BBC, TH400, 14 bolt '06 GMC 2500HD LBZ Duramax

The guy said it was a hemi car, then later said he doesn't know what motor it came with. Has a wedge K frame, but it does supposedly have the torque boxes. Don't think there is a build sheet. Finding a mistake on the VIN tag AND the fender tag would raise a big red flag concerning one or both of them being fakes....02

It just so happens that this is also a '71 Charger. Supposed to be an R/T, plum crazy, 727 auto w/ console, 8.75 rear. Cant say for sure but I think the U was on the door jam and on the fender tag. I kept going back to the VIN but the 12 numbers sort of turned me off about the car. Of course I never carried a camera back then but the car looked untouched. I likely have the number written down somewhere.
