Hey guys, & girls, I have tried for the last 2-3 weeks to contact Charlie B. I know of at least 2 or 3 other members that have also attempted to contact him. Has ANYONE seen or spoken to Charlie in the past few weeks.

Yea, a little humor, and a little fun to take the bordem out of the winter months.

I need to see when Bowling Green is happening. I want to be ready for the slant race. This was 2007 in Bowling Green KY. 198 screaming cubic inches with 3 speed and 3:23's street tires and single legger

wish cc events would have some old style match racing, old a/fx, KOS style, FAST stock apprearing, alky floppers, sling shot, etc. Maybe not a class for each but a couple cars form the area that the events are at.
That is actually part of the reason for this thread. Lots of people waiting, or wanting to discuss those type of things

what are the details of the lack of shows at Rt66 ?
Not 100% sure. But I know rain was a HUGE factor at that track the last 2 yrs. in a row.
If we could find Charlie,....we could ask him.

I would have to guess that the facility was too expensive and wanted paid up front.
Thats the reason..

I don't see anybody else stepping up to put on a 4 race (or more) series. It is an awful big risk especially in this economy. Maybe once I get my status changed to "Investment Bank" I can qualify for a government handout in the form of tax dollars and start a series near everyone's homes

Actually I think he slit his own throat when he wanted to do so many races. It's hard to make any money when your biggest competition is yourself.
OK. Well here is my
I owned a tanning salon here in the Columbus area. Last year prior to the Columbus event, I put a sign on my front door that said CC Events outlet center. I had Charlie bring down 15-20 shirts, and about 40-50 tickets to the Columbus show. I was going to sell them from the salon. I had over 30-40 ppl ask me "What is the Chrysler Classic"...
ADVERTISING
I have never heard a CC Events ad on radio or TV.
I ran a 30 sec. ad on radio for my salon, it cost me $470.00 for 3 . 30 sec. ads. I had probably 10-12 new customers, and 50-60 ppl say they heard my ad. We went from tanning 80 ppl a day up to 115-120 a day.
Promotion, & advertising is the key to success in the retail business. I don't think that 1 show ....or 6 shows is the problem. It is how you advertise those shows. Not to mention customer service is probably the biggest rule.

I agree with promoting the event but because it is such a niche market you are basically limited to the Mopar mags and sites like this to reach your target audience. CC is already canvassing those options. Radio and TV ads are going to add only a small amount of people, most Mopar guts have it in their calender already. The rest are probably too far away for the weekend event. When we ran with the NSCA they were all makes, as long as it was a door car. They did radio ads and didn't improve in attendence. Most of the racers brought their group and there were very few "walk ins". Ultimately gas prices put an end to my racing with them. We were taking 2-3 trucks and trailers and then a motorhome or travel trailer with another truck. We would spend $1000 in a weekend with a chance to win $250 Once people stop traveling it even hurts the local tracks attendence.

And where is this "Cheerleaders Bar & Grill" of which you speak?
I may have to visit said establishment for some food & Ale.

EVERYONE in the Columbus area has heard of the Mopar Nats. HUGE HUGE crowd at that show. Hardly anyone I spoke to even knew that there was "another" all Mopar show at National Trails. I just think the "general public" would come if they knew it was happening.
I did finally shower yesterday No calls
